I was absurdly excited to see Empire of the Sun and Foster the People this fall. They were both phenomenal experiences. The first half of this year I was stuck in a situation that made me unhappy every day. To be able to do things like this and feel happy and carefree again is incredible.

They should do a study on how colossally Google ruined it with the "upgrade" from Google Assistant to Gemini.

I keep finding views in Please Don't Rain where I could handle the crease better on iPhone Duo.

I've looked at this UI a thousand times but it never occurred to me that I didn't convert it to my current styling for liquid glass. 🤦🏻‍♂️

The UI to look up a place or select saved favorites. The left is plain black and white. The right has a blue background and the forms and search bars have the blue partially visible.

I was inspired by the stellar iPhone Duo work @jordanmorgan10.bsky.social has been doing and writing about in his blog. His laptop pose for Elite Hoops was particularly great.

I made my own version for @pleasedontrain.com and of course I wouldn't release it without strong accessibility support!

Two iPhone Duos running Please Don't Rain in laptop mode. There are rows of buttons on the bottom screen that have various chart symbols. The top screen shows a precipitation chart. The right side version has very large accessibility fonts in use and the symbols are much larger. This results in less buttons on the screen.

Back in my day you couldn't create an App Store In-App Event celebrating iPad support and actually mention "iPad". For iPhone Duo I'm happy to report that is no longer the case.

Today's work on Please Don't Rain is making sheets look better on iPhone Duo.

Almost daily I issue a Siri command “Set a timer for __ PM.” Previously this was always handled correctly. With Siri AI, I would say that around 30% of the time it wildly miscalculates the value the timer should be. This doesn't even involve time zones! FB25071051

| apologize for the confusion. | incorrectly calculated the duration between 6:39 PM and 7:10 PM as an hour and 30 minutes instead of 30 minutes. I'm still learning and working to improve.

Completely horrified to realize that if I rotate my iPhone 18 Pro from portrait to landscape to portrait again my iPhone Duo layout kicks in. 😭

Please Don't Rain running on an iPhone 17 Pro size screen, but the interface is horribly jumbled with things unreadable and cut off.
