cute, and cool cicadas!
The years of anticipation haven't been in vain, I'm really loving Order of the Sinking Star so far (: So glad to have a game I can get totally absorbed in again, what a special feeling.
In alien movies people are always so scared of getting killed by the aliens. Personally I'd jump at the opportunity to make an alien friend at the risk of getting my head exploded by psychic powers or whatever
Just realized today marks TEN YEARS since Crowtel released on itchio..! I made a bulk of Crowtel discretely during my 3Dmodeling and compsci classes in high school, which probably explains why to this day I still use the same software I used to make Crowtel 😅
I was worried I'd quickly roll back down to the silver room, but I've ascended to expert 2 star already!
messed up the reward you get for finishing 99% of a game's development is now you have to make sound effects
I think I see simple whimsical work as a way to combat the stressful complexity of the world. I agree, irony has been the lingua franca for too long. It's one thing for it to be conversational, but when it intrudes people's work I don't have a taste for it.
that makes sense, it does seem cathartic to channel negative feelings into creative output. Whenever I've tried that in the past the project always falls apart for some reason
I don't know how people can work on really serious or sad stuff, I think it would make me depressed. My games are all really cheerful and I'm still miserable 90% of the time
Oh cool, glad I'm not the only one haha! I've started getting more A ranks lately, but the logic behind some maka discard preferences sometimes still eludes me, so there's clearly a gap in my understanding somewhere
Aw man that's brutal, you must be crazy good though, it took having to read a mahjong strategy book for me to even get up to expert hahaha!
I'm definitely going to be playing scared next time with that thought in the back of my mind hahah, I just gotta remember it's all for fun though (:
Same here, I demoted from 3 star adept 3 different times before I finally broke through to expert hahaha!
I finally have something to hang on my wall where people usually put their university diploma
thanks, I hope I did the pieces justice haha (:
I've been making 8-bit covers of classical music for a new game lately. Having only made music with a computer myself, it's really given me a new perspective on composition, and how digital rigidity has been limiting my ideas.
As a game gets more complex, there are more opportunities to make the wrong decision. By sticking with a simple system, you let a game design itself rather than a developer design a game. AAA almost never thinks this way anymore, and profit motive echoes in the developer's louder voice
Sale is still going for a few more days
There's also a bundle including all my games for an even greater discount store.steampowered.com/bundle/58891...
never been a huge metroid guy but bog monster samus with an energy sword arm consuming aliens might make me buy a switch 2
LOL that's a good point, I think of sink as in sinking in the water, so it probably didn't occur to me. That's a cute idea though I might have to change it
