@chaztheweasel.bsky.socialBoy I can't wait until people get mad at me for having characters lie to each other in my webcomic and wonder how the other party didn't know they were being lied to
@chaztheweasel.bsky.socialThis is how it should be. Curating your own space online also means being kind and welcoming to the people you're concerned for and care about, while cutting off the people who view compassion as a weakness. Looks like you just earned yourself a follow, friend. Much respect.
@nicterhorst.comReposted by @chaztheweasel.bsky.socialIn the end, this is why I talk politics in my art spaces. I can only apologize about how local the politics often are. But TLDR, talking about what's important to you makes sure your space is only appealing to people you want inside it. As a tattoo artist, people are physically in my space.
@nicterhorst.comReposted by @chaztheweasel.bsky.socialI can't say I cultivate a safe space for anyone but myself, but I cultivate a hostile space for bigots. I don't have to tolerate hateful beliefs, and by actively talking about that, I've never had to feel unsafe in my own space or kick someone out of my chair. All art is political.
@nicterhorst.comReposted by @chaztheweasel.bsky.socialOnce you consider what being neutral/"appealing" really means, you stop wanting it. I don't want people I don't align with to feel like I'm on their side. I'm not saying there's no middle ground, etc, but my wider community and the people invited into MY space don't have to be one in the same.

@franzanth.bsky.socialReposted by @chaztheweasel.bsky.socialHello, @animalphotorefs.bsky.social lost their job midway through the trip that's supposed to pay for the trip and is now stranded so far away.
If you could benefit from animal photos for art references, please consider supporting.
