@domhowson.bsky.socialWorld champion boxer Dalton Smith visited Sheffield Wednesday’s training ground this week.
I asked Henrik Pedersen about Smith and learning from other sports.

@domhowson.bsky.social🗣️ “I’m as frustrated as the fans are. We want to create a powerful #SWFC team with our aggressive pressing and quick transitions."

@domhowson.bsky.socialTomorrow's clash will probably come too soon for Ricardo Santos. He is back in the gym as he continues his rehab from injury but has yet to return to full training. #SWFC
@domhowson.bsky.socialHenrik Pedersen on injuries: "Max has trained a lot this week. Sil has also started to train this week. He’s improving. Jordi was on the pitch today."
Ali Al-Hamadi is in contention to be involved, having trained all week.
@domhowson.bsky.social🔮 Predicted #SWFC line-up for AFC Wimbledon. Two changes. One in midfield and another in attack. 🦉⚽️
@domhowson.bsky.social@domhowson.bsky.socialSheffield Wednesday have confirmed James Silverwood has been invited to join the board of directors as an unpaid non-executive director. Silverwood currently serves as chair of the Sheffield Wednesday Supporters' Trust.

@domhowson.bsky.social📹 New tech, new Wednesday Word podcast.
That man Joe Crann and I dissect the Huddersfield Town draw. We also chat about Joe Lumley, Henrik Pedersen, Jamal Lowe, Wednesday’s form and much, much more.

@domhowson.bsky.social🔵⚪️ Great to see Archie Collins deliver two assists on Saturday. His #htafc spell has been steady rather than spectacular so far.
But Town fought hard to sign him in the summer - and performances like that underline exactly why they wanted to add him to their ranks.
@domhowson.bsky.socialWhich #SWFC loan player misses out this weekend? Surely not Jaden Heskey or Davis Keillor-Dunn. Both are pushing for starts after lively cameos in the Huddersfield fightback.
Ali Al‑Hamadi might return. If that happens… is Mason Burstow the one who makes way? 🦉⚽️
@domhowson.bsky.socialSheffield Wednesday’s remaining fixtures in October:
🏠 AFC Wimbledon
🅰️ Notts County
🅰️ Doncaster Rovers
🏠 Cambridge
We're only eight matches in, but this already feels like a critical spell. What’s your points prediction? 🤔

@domhowson.bsky.social🔵⚪️ Injuries are stacking up at centre-back for #htafc heading into a key period.
Murray Wallace: 6–8 weeks (knee)
Jack Whatmough: two months (calf)
Radinio Balker: 2–3 weeks (hamstring)
Big opportunity now for Joe Low to step up and prove his worth. Might mean a change in shape.
@domhowson.bsky.socialWhat a shocking Liverpool collapse since the red card. Mentally capitulated. They have made it so easy for City. Could get even worse yet.
@domhowson.bsky.social➡️ MK Dons
➡️ Notts County
➡️ Mansfield
➡️ Sheffield Wednesday
Four draws #htafc ought to have turned into wins. Lack of ruthlessness is a major issue. They can’t keep cheaply throwing away points if they are going to finish in the top-six.
@domhowson.bsky.socialWhat a strange old match. You can’t knock Wednesday’s results on the road. Great points haul.
But what’s troubling IMO is #SWFC have only taken two points from three matches against teams expected to be up there come the end of the season (Bradford, Stockport and Huddersfield).
@domhowson.bsky.socialMissing the one they call ‘The Howson derby’ today. Currently away with family and friends in Wales. Football will be the big winner at the Accu Stadium. 🤣
I’ve heard there’s a really good offer going on at The Wednesday Word. Get involved. 😀
@domhowson.bsky.social✍️ OPINION: Whatever unfolds in the coming months, the January transfer window is shaping up to be a relatively quiet one at Hillsborough.
But there’s one area of the squad where #SWFC still look light. 🦉⚽️
@domhowson.bsky.socialHad a good chinwag with Mr James Mappin on Owls Extra earlier this week. We discussed Wednesday’s start to the season, Henrik Pedersen, Di’Shon Bernard, style of play and much, much more. #SWFC 🦉⚽️
@domhowson.bsky.social🔵⚪️ That’s a very good win for #htafc. Was important to bounce back after Bromley and Burton are no mugs. Good to see Fletcher finding some form. Mumba had one of his better outings. Now Drury can rotate and rest some of his big guns for the Jersey Mike’s Trophy. Onwards. 📈
@domhowson.bsky.social🔵⚪️ It would have been a travesty had #htafc not been leading at half-time. Completely dominated the opening half an hour. Another goal and an assist for DSF.
Young gifted Burton their equaliser from their only shot at goal. It’s not the first error he has made this season.
