"veterans & troops are simply cannon fodder to them" If by "them" you mean the US gov't regardless of administration, you'd be correct. We always have been. It's never been good. It's just worse under Trump.

So. Found out getting a new transmission installed into the vehicle costs $9200.00. You can't find a used vehicle that fits our needs here for under $10k and that's an OLD vehicle with near 200k miles. Or it's $30k+ for a used one that's still over 100k miles. Yeah. FML.

The "worked as “General Council” for Fix California" is where she is likely going to be in legal jeopardy as there is, allegedly, a payment to her from said org. IF CA investigates and finds she was providing legal services or counsel without having passed the bar and licensing, that is.

@gulfwarvet.bsky.socialOct 14, 2026, 2:11 PM

And, my knowledge got expanded. See newer post on Zacharia social media where she lists herself as "General Council" for Fix California, a non-profit org.

NOW we could have a situation where she violated CA law and this needs to be investigated.

So. Now THIS is an actual question of whether or not Zacharia broke CA law or not. Katie Zacharia’s LinkedIn and social media profiles list her as “General Counsel” for Fix California, a conservative nonprofit organization from January 2024 to March 2025. This needs to investigated.

@gulfwarvet.bsky.socialOct 14, 2026, 1:43 PM

THIS... is a good question and should be further investigated as to what her duties and responsibilities were that she was expected to perform under the title. Because THIS would qualify under the CA code if she acted in a legal capacity without having taken the bar exam.

So. “Why would a Chinese law firm hire someone to advise on foreign law if they were not licensed to practice that law in their home countries?” It's a mystery why a Chinese law firm would want a person with a US law degree to advise them on US law. An utter mystery.

Now. Is that an exaggeration? A statement that allows people to think something that isn't true? Sure. She was an Associate at Zhong Lun. It was LIKELY as an FRA that is an advisory role. But to my knowledge, she's not claimed anything other than to be a lawyer that worked in China.

@gulfwarvet.bsky.socialOct 14, 2026, 11:25 AM

So, she answered one of the two questions posed and people are taking that to mean her answer covered BOTH questions. I disagree. I think she skipped past the first as she knew she couldn't answer it and instead answered the second, where she acted as an attorney, which was China.

@gulfwarvet.bsky.socialOct 14, 2026, 11:21 AM

We know she's never passed a bar in the US and unless Zhong Lun pulled some serious strings, she wasn't accredited in China, either. But there were TWO questions asked after the statement of her claim to be an attorney, the second being "which state". Her answer was: "when I moved to China"

@gulfwarvet.bsky.socialOct 14, 2026, 11:18 AM

Next, let's address the "she claimed to have passed the bar..."

There are three parts here; a statement followed by TWO questions.

"You said Zarharia is an attorney"
"Where did she pass the bar exam?"
"What state?"

Her answer; "when I moved to China"

So. ONCE AGAIN.

Claiming to be a lawyer is NOT the same as claiming to be able to PRACTICE law in that jurisdiction.

And the CA code makes that distinction.

(a) Any person advertising or holding himself or herself out as practicing or entitled to practice law or otherwise practicing law who is not an active licensee of the State Bar, or otherwise authorized pursuant to statute or court rule to practice law in this state at the time of doing so,

@gulfwarvet.bsky.socialOct 14, 2026, 10:13 AM

So. "Falsely claiming to be an attorney violates state laws" This statement is not, on its face, accurate because it doesn't present the entirety of the law. It's not simply claiming to be an attorney that violates CA code BPC 6126. The code reads...

@gulfwarvet.bsky.socialOct 14, 2026, 10:08 AM

She is not a licensed attorney in the US able to practice law in court. She has claimed she is a lawyer. She has a JD law degree and worked at Zhong Lun, a Chinese law firm, as an Associate, likely in an FRA role, though that last isn't confirmed.

@gulfwarvet.bsky.socialOct 14, 2026, 8:58 AM

Zacharia earned a JD and went to work for Zhong Lun, a Chinese law firm. Her statement to the effect that she worked as a lawyer in China, can be correct if she worked as an FRA for Zhong Lun. As long as she isn't saying she can practice law in the US, she's doing nothing actually wrong.

@gulfwarvet.bsky.socialOct 14, 2026, 8:48 AM

The ABA rules do not say that a person cannot claim to be a lawyer after earning a law degree unless that person passes a bar exam. They ONLY say that the person cannot claim to be ABLE to PRACTICE law or DO so without meeting the jurisdiction requirements.
