i'm not arguing that the way LLMs are packaged and sold isn't fundamentally different to a calculator. i'm wondering out loud whether you would not see this same effect in these same circumstances substituting other tools

i think ai sucks man i just also think its such a magnet for knee jerk reactions

if you give me a tool for 10 questions and then make me do three without it i'm probably gonna be a little annoyed and bored no matter what that tool is, you know?

i would sincerely like to know how this compares to the same experiment but using a search engine or, like, a calculator

they are dragging eighth century monastic author Bede in the storygraph reviews :(

nobody tells you how many phone calls you have to take after you get hit by a car!!

long weekend treat for me except the deadlines and meetings I have lol

i'm fine and everything's being sorted but I spent all of today dealing with someone driving into the back of my car and destroying it and i would like to not have to ever do that again please

romance will destroy you, community will fix you, and friendship could go either way but will be much more intense in any case

oh there's a punchline to this one which is that anthropeum added ads for ai like two days after I submitted this

and many mornings!

sometimes you really do have to grit your teeth and remember your values include not dunking on people on social media

i'm gonna stop tweeting about stuff that won't exist for at least two years after this but multiple people have now told me one of the characters in the novel is very funny and I don't remember writing a single joke. excited to find those on the reread

finished my first interview for [largest project I've ever worked on] 😊

why not play station to station and then read my interview with Meredith from earlier this year?

got around to watching and really enjoyed how you approached this! (and ofc i know why you didn't get into your own feelings on the format much when we talked last week but would be happy to chat about it any time)

got to enthuse about all the plates i have spinning to a friend and they said "wow i feel so alive"
