To everyone in the trans+ community: your existence is not something to be debated. These words come from cis women who simply want you to know that your lives matter, and that you deserve joy, safety, dignity and belonging. Love is a doing word. All our love, NION women đź’ś

I am so sorry that life is so tough right now.
Sadly it seems that the world has become filled with hate and division. People who have never had the wonderful opportunity to meet you or any of your trans siblings are only hearing from the noisy, hateful ones.
I want you to hear from some of the other people on this planet who don't use social media to shout and spread hate.
#WithTheTDear beautiful you...please know that in this crazy world there are folk who cheer you, love you and embrace you.
Hold tight to who you are, and know that you are beautiful, are worthy, and are seen and heard. May the winds of time bring quietitide to your world and fan the wings of peace so that you can keep being you... beautiful! Xx
#WithTheTThank you for enriching our world and teaching us that there are many ways to be fully human. I'm sorry you have to endure the misunderstanding & mistreatment of those who can only imagine life in narrow lines of conformity. I remember, not so long ago, those of us who knew we were lesbians were afraid to say it, watching in silence and fear as we were punished for our difference.
I promise you, these times will pass. The LGB community survived - we are here and proud.
For the T community suffering right now - you already belong with us, and I know that broader acceptance will follow. Until then, please know that you have our love, acceptance and support.
- MD
#WithTheTI want you to know that I support you unequivocally and you must believe me when I say that there are many many people that share this view. Put simply - YOU matter, YOU are loved and YOU are supported.
Please, if you can, turn down the volume on those negative voices and amplify those who want you to hear messages of love and support. YOU are enough. YOU are valid.
YOU matter!
Best wishes,
Jacqui

Access to gender-affirming care, supportive family, work and school environments, and strong connection to the trans+ community substantially lower rates of depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation. Cis women have an important role to play in providing all of that.

Minority stress is real. The continuous exposure to microaggressions, misgendering, social rejection, and anti-trans legislation creates a persistent, high-stress environment for the trans+ community.

On Mental Health Awareness Day, we want to say women are tired. Tired of the hate, the debates and the harm. Today, we send love to each other, and compassion to the whole trans+ community, from the cis women who know you deserve better and so much more. We are stronger together đź’ś

I think correcting language that might or does harm is fine, and we can tell when people are being provocative or nasty. An important part of our engagement work though is to avoid being condescending, recognising that some people simply don’t know the words or understand the experiences, yet

“Many cis women hold back because they’re worried about terminology, about getting it wrong, about wading into something that looks hostile from the outside. But you don’t need to be an expert to believe in basic dignity. Our letter isn’t a test of knowledge – it’s a statement of a simple principle”

Well done Twinks Burnett. When the conversation called for clarity from an ally, you stepped up. Disappointing ignorance, disrespect and disinterest from others though #BBUK

Good luck and love to your family Cal. We hope you find the excitement in new shores and Australia holds you well. Cis people, let’s say and do more than we have so far.

Well, clearly not us, as we aren’t doing that kind of lobbying, but we did write this last year in the hope this year’s policy would have shifted back to a previously inclusive approach. It didn’t and people voted with their feet and their unions. Feels like a rethink is very much needed
