Guardian writer, but one time I said something inflammatory to the US right & they called me a Diseased Pitmommy. So that's what I go by now

lol scratched val doonican sure is evocative
Tbr I think charity shops, in London at least, have gone a bit mad. £30 for a jumper from Top Shop that didn't even cost that much new, eg. But I imagine this is a doom loop, people stop supporting them, their offer gets more meagre, people support them less
I got bolt of shame from this piece, with charity shop staff saying 'try every now and then giving us something nice: don't put *everything* nice on Vinted' www.theguardian.com/fashion/2026...
This is incredibly sad. I once interviewed RJ Mitte on the Southbank and he was very friendly and joyful on a sunny day by the river. He leaves a legacy of disability representation on the screen; something that is far from easy to achieve and still too rare. www.theguardian.com/culture/2026...

🔴 We asked Tony Blair's think tank about charging businesses £500k for political access at party conferences and why one of its sponsor's logos disappeared after our reporting last week on TBI's alleged cash for access scheme This is what they said
Ur funny 🥰
😂
I was really surprised by the triple lock thing, have I missed a whole strand of Graham-as-status-quoist discourse?
How I feel right now about the British/ 🇬🇧English( whatever) political landscape is that some one wrapped in a Union Jack could whack me over the head with a flag pole & the BBC would shove a microphone in my face asking why I provoked the attacker & the Home Sec would invite the attacker for tea .
lol sorry, I was being defensive. I have def followed her on X and now here...
well it's a column about student debt, how it's structured, how it's sold, what its consequences are: not about academic institutions.
This is an absolutely wild misreading of my point, which was that students were being missold their debt - not by universities, who are being stiffed by the same system, but by policy makers. Also weird to turn replies off
I missed FAMU honoring Dolly Parton at Miami Friday night.
This is a very gorgeous and sometimes tearjerking piece
Lols I have badgered them already
It's weird it says that til you click through
It's a long shot but Bluesky is as good a place as any for this: does anyone have a ticket they can't use for the Zeteo launch at the Barbican tmrw? I will buy it off you if so (I have one, I just want to take my kid).
This has strong drapetomania vibes, & if you don't know what is, and you also want to know how truly intellectually disgusting the establishment can be, go look it up
