It’s the same with Douglas Adams, he comes up with incredible SF concepts that could power entire novels and he just uses them for a throwaway gag and you can’t help but think… bastard.

It better have his Gundam designs in it.

I read the book recently and I do want to check out the movie.

Starfleet does not have HR.

Sometimes my wife and I like to send each other text messages as though they’re democratic fundraising messages, and I believe she has produced the jewel of the form.

You're not the only one who dislikes it. Elizabeth Sladen's daughter has issues. I don't want to link to the video but her comment is perfect

I have a new writing mantra.

When I went to the teachers, I always got the ‘well, try not to show that it upsets you and they’ll leave you alone.’

If I could go back in time, I’d teach my younger self how to throw a punch and how to swear. If I could manifest my trademark cutting wit at 13 and not 23…

So, given the fact that thus film was so bad, it set Octavia Butler on the path of SF writer, is ‘Devil Girls from Mars’ one of the most important movies in the SF canon?

They pay lip service to stopping bullying while forever teaching that fighting back against bullies is somehow an immoral thing to do.

Even all the way back to being bullied at school. The teachers won’t ever truly punish the bully, but shame the victim for somehow being weak enough to be bullied, or by showing the pain of their bullying this indicting the institution for their willing negligence of their responsibilities.

You see this all over, too. The obsession with civility serves the status quo every time. It’s not proper to publicly name your abuser or the vectors on which they abused you. It’s not polite to call a racist a racist. It’s so transparent and yet???

On this day in Horror History, BLACK CHRISTMAS was released in 1974.

Scully there's been another unsubstantiated UFO sighting in the heartland of America. We've got to get there right away. Well, gee Mulder, there's also this report of a shipment of drugs and illegal weapons coming into New Jersey tonight. I hardly think the FBI is concerned with matters like that.

It’s perfectly natural, you’re going through scary shit and the road ahead isn’t easy.

I’m hoping this is how it looks when I have my cardioversion procedure tomorrow.

Yeah… it actually got reprinted a few months back.
