I don't only post shit on the internet, sometimes I make games too! ...which I then post on the internet. Anyway! Here's a 🧵 about some games I've made. Most of these use standard components or are pnp, so you might already own them and not realize it!

“Hold on, I know a shortcut!” Well, certainly got you where you were going faster…

There is always going to be a market—a large one—for games that are completely random and boring.

It’s easy to look at the Game of Goose and the infinity of Victorian spinner games and wonder wtf. These games suck, why were they popular? There were *great* games already by that point, so why are these games dominant?? …Then I remember that LCR exists as a modern variation of the phenomenon

this photo from Wikipedia is cool. these are limestone slabs used in early lithography, and this is an archive of them.

Pipoca is extremely clever. It manages to make a complicated system legible. And when you play it a few times you start seeing the matrix, which is always a fun feeling.

One of the gaming highlights of this week was introducing my game All Squared Up to a new player and then immediately following it with Differenzler—the game ASU is loosely based on. In that head to head comparison, for a neophyte, ASU fared well. That’s about as much as I can possibly hope for.

I did get all the art finished and proofed for All Squared Up this week. Gonna get a test print and then it’s gonna be time for The Big Scary Self Publishing Print Run

Missed two game clubs in a row, due to visitors and then Thanksgiving.

I didn’t play a lot this week (many of these are async BGA games happening to finish this week). Played about 1/10th as much Draft Cribbage as I would like. I dunno if others will like it as much as me, but for my Gin-obsessed brain, it *hits*.

I spy a Luxembourgish flag in there…

I really do need to learn more about ancient games of South and Central America.

It’s been thirty minutes in bed with a book and a cup of coffee this morning (after getting up and feeding everybody and starting the rolls rising for dinner), and the kids haven’t come in and found me yet. Are they up to trouble or playing nicely? A schrodinger’s cat of parenting.

@dxdydz.northsky.socialOct 11, 2026, 4:17 PM

Oh this one is so good. Well done

I got a message this morning. Someone bought "But Then She Came Back", played it, and said it made them realize they were being abused and leave that relationship. I am profoundly moved that something I made helped someone in that way. Been sobbing since I got the message.

Nobody is more punk than babies. The food is vegetarian mush, and it's absolutely everywhere. No matter where they live, they're effectively squatting. They sleep all day and stay up late. They're completely broke. Their music is mostly screaming and amateur drumming. It's so cool.

we had to take some guests down to the ferry today and decided to hit up Ladysmith as a result of seeing your posts. Cinnamon buns were all sold out by then but had a nice time anyway.

Taught a bunch of people and played a couple games of Fuluzatsu (designed by @neonrot.bsky.social) at the wonderful local convention, the Congress of Gamers (#CoG). It was a blast (Fukuzatsu always is). Happy to spread the good word of chaos to the masses. #boardgames #chaos #fun
