Meta took down the No Kings instagram; TikTok banned the Musk documentary account for supposedly violating its political posting policies. A reminder that platforms are owned by the wealthiest of people, control the means of media distribution, & put their thumbs on the democracy scale as they wish

Post from Ezra Levin: ❗❗❗Mark Zuckerberg's meta just suspended the No Kings Instagram account. I just rushed back from my local No Kings to jump on this. Bottom line, would be helpful for all pro-No Kings folks to elevate the issue and help us get the word out about No Kings today. The Nerd Reich strikes again. 3:02 PM · Oct 17, 2026 TikTok has banned the entire Musk film account, citing political content that violates its policies. The move, which comes just as the Alex Gibney’s investigation into Elon Musk expands to more than 470 screens across North America, raises concerns about Big Tech suppression that the very film seeks to expose. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/politics-news/musk-movie-tiktok-banned-theaters-showtimes-1236734308/

If you've got a professional account on Instagram switch it to a personal account before the 30th, or Facebook is going to essentially have full licence rights to everything you put on there 🤷

you can't be serious. This reads Meta/Facebook/Insta is looking to grant itself the rights to scrape websites across the open web - and train Meta's AI - if a company after Oct 30, 2026 uses Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp or other Meta services. So every biz. Read that again. Outrageous. 1/5

Legendary animator Loyd Price has sadly passed away at 64. He spent more than 30 years at Aardman, with credits including ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas,’ ‘Flushed Away’, ‘The Pirates! Band of Misfits’, ‘Wallace & Gromit.’

MUSK. Alex Gibney's 4-hour epic is informative & flies by - there's so much scandal & even though this covers A LOT I'm sure it's still not everything - & you get a full picture of the spoiled manchild. Would be a 5 star doc IF Gibney didn't use a genAi Musk stand-in to recreate his IRL quotes.
