Gotta love reading The Oregonian’s D3 endorsements. It’s just three idiots from the Portland Metro Chamber in a trench coat. The bias is so loud it’s embarrassing.

The police said she lied about being raped. Then she hit record.

THE SUPPORTER SECTION IS WALKING OUT. THE POLICE MADE THEM TAKE DOWN THE SIGN. All the normal signs are gone. No "y'all means all." No "trans lives matter." Nothing. It is now quiet. No music, no drums, no chants #AustinFC

Kent Ford endorsed Mitch Green for reelection. Mr. Ford has been fighting for his community for more than 60 years in Portland, establishing survival programs for basic needs like food and health care, and challenging racist government and state sanctioned violence from local police and feds.

In Gephi Lite I have some preset filters to allow filter by date (here Sept 21 -Oct 7). You can also add labels for the edges to show transaction quantity. Here's Swickard's $ being washed through intermediary PACs by the PBA.

Financial transactions network diagram for PBA PACs run through intermediary PACs with funding showing Swickard's money being hidden. Gephi Lite showing unfiltered financial network of PBA PACs and how to access options.

I am in Cap Haitien interviewing people deported from the United States. I have been doing this kind of work for almost a decade and it literally does not get more dire than this. People have lost everything they built in the U.S. and are terrified and have no place to go or way to live.

Why in the heck was he not using a burner phone? Must not have been paying attention in his How to Do Corruption for Public Officials class. He was probably on his phone(s).

Ryan retracted the statement that his husband traded in Ryan’s phone. If Ryan is so worried about his constituents seeing his text messages about city business, maybe he should go ahead and resign now

A Multnomah County judge ordered Councilor Dan Ryan to preserve evidence on his personal phone until an ongoing public records lawsuit is resolved. “This is not a game of cat and mouse," Judge David Rees said. "There are some indications that those games are being played, and it has to stop today."

Learn about the 30x30 initiative here.

PPB is listed as a participating agency on their About page.

Here is Chief Day commenting on a draft version of the Police Staffing Report that was delivered 2 weeks past its June 1, 2026 deadline to accommodate comments from PPB. Chief Day questioned the report's assertion that PPB is a participant in the 30x30 initiative.

Recent hires are considerably more diverse than employees that have been with the bureau for more than two decades. For example, sworn employees with 2-5 years of service are 64.9% white, compared
to 86.7% of staff that have worked for the bureau for 21+ years (21). Additional hiring has the opportunity to further diversify the workforce. Sworn personnel are predominantly male; the 30x30 Initiative, which Portland is a participating agency in, presents an opportunity to diversify the workforce as well as expand recruitment possibilities.22
The primary constraint on PPB's current hiring rate is the volume of qualified applicants entering the recruitment pipeline. Several strategies could expand that pipeline over time. More intensive or
sustained recruitment campaigns, including outreach to previously under-targeted populations (such as greater emphasis on recruiting women, multilingual candidates, or individuals from communities
historically underrepresented in law enforcement) could broaden the applicant pool. Revisiting qualification or eligibility criteria could also affect the number of candidates who advance through the
hiring process, though any such changes would need to be weighed carefully against training standards, the effect that changed criteria could have on graduation rates, and the expectations the
community holds for its police officers. (23)

NOTE: There is a red box around "is a participating agency in" with a line drawn to it from a box on the right side that has black text inside a pink box with text: Commented [RD16]: Are we?

As of Q4 2025/26, 16.93% of the sworn officers are women. This is the lowest percentage since PPB began publishing this data in Q2 2024/25. PPB might (or might not) be a participant in the 30x30 initiative, which is a national movement to advance women in policing.

PPB Workforce Demographics Dashboard filtered to Sworn staff and Q4 2025/26.

There are bar graphs of Race/Ethnicity by Percentage, Age by Percentage, Sex by Percentage, and Years of Service by Percentage.

The Demographics by Race/Ethnicity & Sex table at the bottom shows a Grand Total of 16.93% Female and 83.07% Male officers.

PPB has a Workforce Demographics Dashboard where you can filter on sworn/professional staff, position, and quarter/year.
