That story was kind of exaggerated, like yeah he had the massive debt but he wasn’t doing the weird movies because he was strong armed into it, he said in interviews that they were all still projects he wanted to do and was basically like “why are people surprised I like to do my job?”

Just speaking for film & TV there isn't really a job loss due to AI. It's been mostly due to successive punches of pandemic, streaming collapse, union strikes, studio consolidation and interest rates. This trend was in place way before Midjourney was pumping out pictures with 14 fingers.
