Wishing you all the best over there. Last time we had flooding we got big bags of sawdust from the home depot and spread that around the floor. It soaked up the water. No mildew smell or anything in the years to follow. Could try that once the flooding stops if you think insurance will be a pain.

Oh, right, should prolly add that I was in surgery on Friday getting an umbilical hernia fixed. Hurt myself last year lifting a fridge. Procedure went totally fine! Recovery going well. Got a bit of a persistent ache, but no sharp pain or anything. 🩵🖤🤍

She felt so bad! She gave me the biggest hug and apologized over and over. I swear she was close to tears! After that, everything was great. She immediately switched names and pronouns and made sure everyone did the same. Was a wonderful experience!

It wasn't until she asked if I still had my uterus that it clicked that something was up. After explaining that I never had a uterus to begin with, I could see the gears turning in her head. She thought I was FtM. She thought my dead name was my chosen name.

So the OR admissions clerk kept deadnaming and using he/him pronouns despite having female listed on my chart along with my chosen name. I didn't really care too too much. My name change is still in the works and she was probably going off my OHIP card.
