If I was allowed to vote for you as a citizen of the UK, i would!
Seconded. I discovered Red Barchetta not long after I bought a red MX5 Mk1. A brisk drive across the Yorkshire Wolds soon burned both the car and the song indelibly into my brain. Still miss my brilliant Red Barchetta from a better vanished time.
Right now, I'd agree. My Peugeot takes the strain off my classic for now. I'm thinking about in 15 yrs time, when you can pick a 2cv or Spring up for a couple k to daily drive, keeping the classic for longer journeys. Won't be for everyone, but long range will filter down to econoboxes eventually.
Okay, fair enough. The trim level up from the basic starts at just under 13k. So depending on options, you can buy one for £12990, with the same range as the fully specced every single option 17k. I get that words get twisted to make a good headline, but there's nowt wrong with cautious optimism.
Also, I appreciate the "smart arse." Haven't been called one of those in years!
The Dacia Spring is available to buy from £12k right now, with around 110-120 miles range. Stands to reason that as battery cars get more prevalent, the pendulum will swing the other way. It has to, as all car makers will do is end up with customers that can't afford their products.
What do you need a car to have to function "as a car?" I've only ever needed four wheels, four seats, a heater and a radio, and I assume you'll get all that for 13k.
Stuck for things to post, so here's a few progress shots of the Halifax I'm building.
You're better off out Nanaki, never really engaged with Twitter but half the stuff that I hear about it makes me glad I didn't. Don't let the bastards grind you down
I'm getting into collecting records again. Listening to them whilst I build model aeroplanes provides a happy few hours disconnected from the Net.
Didn't the football come home that year or did we dream it?
My Peugeot 207 gets similar, even though there isn't an undamaged panel on it. However nobody fucked with my Volvo 850 estate in similar condition. Maybe its a size thing
Ford Zodiac spotted. Love Ford UK's Yank tank in miniature designs.
Do it. Take the brave pill and do it.
Washed, clay-barred, waxed. Looks better than it has done in years. Gonna give the interior a good go next week. Also found the time to strip, clean and lubricate the bottom bracket bearings on the bike. Productive day.
This has just flashbanged me, H585CKK is mine!
I'm gonna dress as my favourite low-effort protagonist: Arthur Dent
An unsung member of the fleet. 1990s Raleigh Pioneer Classic, picked it up for around £30 a year ago. Really helping beat the current fuel prices for shorter trips.
Its not a perfect setup, but it works.
Osmosis. I find that I Know Things about obscure cars that I don't remember learning
