Oh same. While not spontaneous, I will be driving through remote places of Oregon, California, and Nevada next weekend on the way to BLFC. Its my favorite drive of the year, and I'm definitely looking forward to it.

I've been wondering for just as long, too. Every few years I'll dig around to see if any new information has surfaced, but nothing that I can find. I got one of my favorite commissions from her. I hope she's doing alright, wherever she is.

I'm feeling about the same. If finding a space becomes a hassle, then I may just not go. I got a spot in the FC room lottery, but was too slow and everything sold out. I've spent the whole night thinking hard about if it's worth it, since at cons I spend most of the time wandering around by myself.
