I’m not the malicious prankster type. But sometimes, the temptation to change the avatars and name spellings of people who forget to sign out of their streaming media profiles in Airbnbs is too much to resist.

I tell my kids that I have two life goals for them: Be good, and be happy. Meaning be a good neighbor, kind, considerate towards your fellow humans. And then do whatever makes you happy. And literally nothing else matters.

You know I feel this. I remind myself the same thing. It is okay to simply punch a clock and then go home and do things you like, over and over, until you’re done.

I feel like simply existing and enjoying the things you enjoy — *especially* at this particular point in time — can and should be considered a victory.

(Though when I see food media and “food media” mixing them up, I am… significantly less forgiving. We all make mistakes sometimes, but if you’re a pro, this is the kind of mistake you should make *once*.)

Yeah, I think the vocal difference is *less* pronounced with an American accent. But 99% of the time when I encounter it, it’s written, not spoken. Genuinely meant to be helpful, not trying to give people a hard time.

Oh, wow, just found this mnemonic I made years ago while sifting through some old files. Ever have a hard time remembering which is tonkAtsu (fried pork chop) and which is tonkOtsu (pork ramen broth)? Not anymore.
