President Trump and Russ Vought are stealing nearly $1 billion in funding Congress already approved. They don’t get to pick which laws to follow and which ones to break. I’m fighting to get these funds to the New Mexico students, families, and small businesses counting on them.

I’ve made it a priority to ensure Western states have a stronger voice in federal policy and receive the resources they need.

As climate change worsens and drought becomes a growing part of life across the West, the federal government must be better prepared to support Western states and deliver emergency funding when disaster strikes.

Gun violence has no place in our schools and our communities. Every educator, student, and family deserves to feel safe, and we must continue working to prevent violence and protect our communities. I’m praying for Mr. Matthews and the entire Highland Middle School community.

I was proud to pass this legislative victory in the Senate for those who have cared for our lands for hundreds of years. Now more than ever, we need better communication and consultation between land grant-merced communities and the federal government.

I just voted for the 14th time to end Donald Trump’s disastrous war with Iran and bring our troops home. At least 19 servicemembers have lost their lives, many remain in harm’s way, gas is over $4.53 a gallon, and record diesel prices are squeezing our farmers and working families.

It was an honor to provide the keynote at the @nmsu.edu Domenici Public Policy Conference. Senator Domenici showed that bipartisanship isn’t about agreeing on everything. It’s about finding common ground and getting things done for folks at home. That’s the NM tradition I’m proud to carry forward.

I’m leading the NM Congressional Delegation in calling on Apple and Google to keep New Mexico as New Mexico on their maps. President Trump has no legal authority to rename our state. New Mexico’s name belongs to our people – not the president. The companies have until Sept 18 to publicly commit.
