Had a studio session on the books today but rescheduling to next month due to the weather. After a late night running live sound last night, I’m okay with taking the day off 😴
Still wanging on about Loss Lines, track by track? Yes I am. Track 8 is 'Leave me', and a prickly, sad thing it is, too.
It's about experiencing a (temporary) intolerance of company, cheerfulness and attempted distraction in a time of loss ('don't laugh, don't smile').
I should be paid a dollar every time an app or website pesters me to let it cram some superfluous A.I. feature down my throat, and five dollars if I've previously dismissed that nag prompt
Go to your local library, borrow their CDs and rip them to your laptop. Or hell, just hang out there and rip what you want and then go home. Your tax dollars already paid for it.
Right, I divided the total by 12 and made sure to pay that every month. Other every day use cards fell a little behind and I did another balance transfer on that. Now I’ve paid it all off
Correct, but when you’re paying like 2-3% a month in interest it’s definitely worth doing
hell yeah
That'll do it. Small fish in a big pond but at least you moved somewhere with opportunities. The Asheville pond is quite small 😂
Acoustic guitars are such a pain man
Yeah. In an ideal world that's probably what I would do, and may wind up doing eventually. Gotta keep the lights on though so to some extent it is what it is.
Thanks yo! It’s an even bigger accomplishment when you consider what I do for a living lol
Update: my combined credit card balance is currently sitting at $0
Fair points! Might need this fee to be even more substantial than I originally thought
Equally valid way of reading that honestly
I've had a couple clients talk to me about how they used AI "as a tool" to write their songs for them, and they want to actually record themselves playing it. It's such a foreign concept to me, like why would you outsource the creative part of making art? It's kinda the whole point imo
It would be substantial enough to get me into the ballpark of what I should be paid lol
Highly considering adding a substantial fee per song for anyone coming to me wanting to record AI generated music.
On to track 7 of Loss Lines, which is a cover of Ben Kweller's 'Problems'.
This is my second cover of this song, so I hereby promise not to do a third one. This time it's got a full band sound and a 60s hand-clapping feel.
