Very rare overworked hobby artist. I've accepted to be less child-friendly here so, I will bite. Avatar by: @kaiera.furria.net Banner by: @gingykfox.bsky.social For your piece of mind, I am in my late 20s.

@shurishy.bsky.socialThe moral of this story is.
I love Fire Emblem
I love Strategy games in general.
But Fire Emblem is special, hits that niche of RPG and tactical gameplay perfectly for me.
And now as a final take away from this.
Please play Advance Wars by Web, best way to play it with others. awbw.amarriner.com
@shurishy.bsky.socialThat DAMAGE CONTROL is what makes Fire Emblem fresh to me. Sure I could play it purely strategical and like a math, but that shit's boring, I WANT MY INSTINCT TO RULE AND WHEN IT'S RIGHT THAT'S CATHARTIC, AND WHEN IT'S WRONG THEN I WANT TO FIX IT AND FEEL CATHARTIC
@shurishy.bsky.socialAnd often that will pay off where I send a swordmaster I trained in lances to kill literally everything by dodgetanking and self-healing through crit-healing mechanics. And then he will not land crits thrice in a row, a mage with weird 3 range or something will approach and I have to damage control
@shurishy.bsky.socialDon't get me wrong I like the Tactics series and Advance Wars (Reboot Camp was awful though) But that's because because I am really SCARILY good at them I have some stupidly good understanding of strategy. But FE is special, that one tempts me like Eve's apple to be stupid, to be FUNNY
@shurishy.bsky.socialI love the fact how easy and tempting it is to put myself into awful positions in Fire Emblem just through hype. This is why I've never felt that in any of the Tactics games, Advance Wars or similar. In Tactics you will kill everything or it will just be a fair fight. Advance War is pure strategy
@shurishy.bsky.socialI realize the reason I love Fire Emblem specifically as a game is because it is a game that is willing to give me super powerful units/individuals I have really grinded up just to make a bad tactical error because my "Queen Piece" had a good push and I forgot to consider one thing.
@shurishy.bsky.socialIt was. :)
