I see a lot of posts saying that you need to be creative, you need to draw, defy the odds, yaddayadda. Hey. It's ok to be tired. It's ok to not be able to do much. It's ok to just sit on the couch and stare at the wall. Please drink some water. Take a shower if you can. It's ok.

Hack: when looking for references of people, take screenshots from videos rather than drawing from actual photos. You’ll end up with a more unique reference. Also, use screenshots of locations from street view in Google earth when drawing backgrounds. You’ll end up with references nobody else has

When @keymonster.bsky.social put out a special deal for horses, I IMMEDIATELY had to inquire if "unicorns counted". I'm going to be honest: I have wanted to see their take on "the unicorn of the lilac wood" from The Last Unicorn for AGES.

I'm still just in awe of this piece.

A white unicorn with shading in soft greens and purples is shown mid-trot. Their head is lifted high. They have a green mane, tail, beard and feathering, all with lilacs blooming along them. The background shows a starry night with a full moon, all in cool shades. Trees and lilac bushes grow in the background. The background style is reminiscent of that of the animated movie, The Last Unicorn.

Happy Italian Heritage Month, New York. Here’s continuing to fight for Vito Marcantonio’s vision of a government that works for all working people.
