I recently joined my friend, Jonathan Okubay, and the Eritrean Canadian Sports League to meet some our city’s future soccer stars. This program is such a wonderful way for these kids to stay healthy, learn about teamwork and to celebrate community and their Eritrean heritage.

Ontario Place should be a fun, vibrant, green and public destination for everyone to enjoy. I was proud to move a motion at council to ensure the City of Toronto takes a stand and intervenes in support of a Supreme Court challenge against Doug Ford’s private Spa deal. It’s being heard today.
An early morning walk through the Cedarvale Ravine.
It was a pleasure to cheer on the Girl Guides selling cookies at Yonge and Eglinton this evening. It was also a pleasure, and obviously a civic duty, to eat the cookies I bought from them.
…today that connects youth with older adults, learning from each other and developing friendships. ps- see that pic of me and that remarkable woman in the sweater? That’s Mama B. She’s one of the kindest, wisest and most wonderful people I’ve ever met.
A few years ago, I moved a motion to fund and establish a new Youth Hub on Oakwood Ave. Since then, For Youth Initiative and their partners have done wonders with the space, helping our kids and community be safe, resilient and well. It was a pleasure to join their Savvy Seniors Tech program…
…across from the Wychwood Barns! We’re working together to support our community’s ability to age in place.
I visited the 580 Rollers, a group of older residents who are creating a NORC (Naturally Occurring Retirement Community) on Christie St- their building is on a site where their once was a rollerdrome, right…

Ah! Fair enough. I see what you mean. That’s an anomaly and you are completely correct.
We always do!
Wishing you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving weekend! The Wychwood Barns Farmers Market is one of my favorite places in the city. It’s where we support local farmers and vendors, buy fresh produce, delicious food and gifts, and where our community comes together.
I’m very proud to work closely with the Yonge Eglinton Community Centre to support programming for everyone in our community from young families to older adults. It was a pleasure to join so many friends at the Seniors Active Living Fair.
Every Toronto tenant should have a home that’s safe, healthy and affordable. And if your landlord is neglectful, and doesn’t respect your rights, you need to know that City Hall has your back. That’s what I’ve been fighting for, and we’ve achieved some big wins. But there’s a lot more work to do.
…And, that our laws be effectively enforced, without exception, by the police to protect everyone. Tonight, I will again be with our city’s Jewish community as we commemorate this solemn day, together.
…move elsewhere. Rather than performative actions, or none at all, I believe our leaders should stand with our Jewish community- like any other that faces hate, intimidation, harassment and violence. Rather than divide us, they should actively work to build bridges, and bring us together…
… in its darkest forms. Over the past three years, that trauma has been increasing with local Jewish institutions, businesses and neighbourhoods targeted with harassment and violence, and too many Jews feeling scared, targeted and abandoned. I’ve even spoken with some who have sadly decided to…
Today, we remember the innocent people in Israel who were murdered, and taken hostage, by Hamas- acts of horrific terrorism. That day had a profound impact on our city’s Jewish community- a community that has throughout its history been subjected to bigotry, violent pogroms and the Shoah- hate…

I’m very grateful for the many conversations I’ve been having in every Toronto-St. Paul’s neighbourhood about our local priorities, and our city. I really love our community.
