Even if you decide to set aside the walkthrough and play by yourself again, the slightest friction will make you return to the walkthrough, is my experience.

This reminds me a lot of using a walkthrough when playing an adventure game. I think most people have experienced that you can often start off just fine playing without hints in such games, but the moment you look up something it becomes very very hard to keep playing on your own.
