Just a small moment, but I love that this shows how skilled Lucifer is from his time as the devil. He just chooses not to show it most of the time, which is even more powerful in a way

My headcanon for why touching her bare back made him believe it is that there are different muscles there for angels, whether they currently have wings out or not, but canon doesn't really support that lol. I especially have no idea what he hoped to accomplish by looking at the back of her coat 😂

Chloe, Lucifer, and Trixie making breakfast in season 2

snippet of chapter 54:
Chloe started to stir, little movements that had her pressing even closer to him for a moment. He was already smiling when she opened her eyes. They settled on his face, and then she smiled, too. “Hi.”

“Good morning again, love.” He kissed the top of her head.

Her eyes shone at that. “Did you get more sleep? What time is it?”

“Yes, and just past ten.”

“Trixie isn’t up yet?”

“Not that I heard.”

“Mmm. I should go check on her, make breakfast…”

“For me as well, yes? Since I do believe you threatened to pamper me all day.”

Her smile only grew. “Yes. For you, too.”

She started to get up, which left Lucifer torn, because he didn’t want her to. He would have been fine with the two of them staying in bed like that all day, whether it meant getting breakfast or not. He had to resist the urge to pull her back down, missing her warmth the moment she moved away from him. If not for Trixie, he might have insisted on another hour under the covers together.

“What do you want to eat?” she asked, running her hand over her hair to smooth it out. “Anything in particular?”

“Whatever you’d like is fine. Just make it extra special for me.” He beamed at her, lounging languidly back to emphasize how much he was willing to be taken care of today.

“You know, that’s not as specific a request as you might think. Deciding to burn your toast or add a bucket of salt to your eggs would also count as making it special.”

He just grinned lazily up at her. “I don’t think you’ll do anything like that, since you love me now.”

Chloe snorted. “Yeah, that doesn’t mean never doing anything to annoy you. Since you’re new to the concept, let me be the first to tell you that people in love intentionally annoy each other sometimes. You should know, really. You’ve already been accomplished at doing both whether you realized it or not.”

He laughed. “Annoy you, maybe, but ruin perfectly good eggs for no reason? Now that, I’d never do.”
