Rebel Rebel definitely seems to have been a label requirement for a single. I wonder if there wasn’t an original demo version that fit better with the album that ended up pop-ified to please the execs. It’s a fun little song, but a real immersion-breaker when listening through the entire album.

Umm. Alladin Sane was a different ‘persona’ and concept. Ziggy Stardust was a character, not a representation of Bowie’s glam era. And Diamond Dogs (Rebel Rebel) was a concept album based on Orwell’s 1984, not related to Ziggy or Alladin. I’m not “well actually…” just clarifying my initial comment.

I agree. It just seems weird that there are unstable people who will shoot up places of worship, shopping malls, or schools, but not in any of these situations - so far.
