Despite this, Oregonians are working together to care for friends and neighbors targeted by ICE. I stand with you and I will not stop demanding answers and working to get my constituents back home with their families.
This ICE surge is not making our communities safer. Their tactics are designed to intimidate and cause fear, and that’s exactly what's happening.
We've seen an alarming increase in detentions and ICE activity across Oregon. I conducted a congressional oversight visit at the ICE Processing Facility in Portland with my colleagues @repdexteror.bsky.social and @merkley.senate.gov.
ICE is not making us safer and this surge is increasing fear in the community. I encourage everyone to make a safety plan and take care of each other. I will not stop advocating for safe communities, due process, and humane immigration reform.
I just conducted a Congressional oversight visit at the ICE processing facility in Portland with @repdexteror.bsky.social and @merkley.senate.gov.
Today we celebrated the completion of repairs on the Tillamook jetties, essential infrastructure that keeps mariners, fishermen, boaters, and the US Coast Guard safe.

Congratulations to the team that opened the brand new youth drop-in center, The Drop, in St. Helens! It is encouraging to see that students now have a safe place to study, build community, and receive needed services.
To all the Hispanic and Latino small business owners, local leaders, artists, educators, professionals, and public servants - we are a better and stronger country because of you. #HHM
Happy #HispanicHeritageMonth! This month is a time to celebrate the cultures, traditions, and countless contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities across Oregon and the US. 🧵
I will always fight to protect Job Corps because it's a critical pathway to a job and stability.
PIVOT Job Corps in Portland is supporting young people and getting them ready to enter the workforce. I met with educators and students at PIVOT and discussed their Medical Administrative Assistant program.
For everyone’s safety and security, large bags and backpacks are not allowed at the town hall meeting. Small purses no larger than 4.5 by 6.5 inches are permitted. Attendees will not be allowed inside if they do not comply with these safety regulations. Doors will open an hour before each event.
There is one more town hall meeting in my fall town hall series: Saturday, October 17 at 1 p.m. Liberty Theater 1203 Commercial Street, Astoria
It was great to hear from the St. Helens community tonight at my town hall meeting! Thank you to everyone who attended.
I'm excited to support the work being done at Terminal 2, where several small companies are working with mass timber and other innovative housing production materials to lower costs and make homes more affordable, resilient, and sustainable.
Everywhere I go in NW Oregon, I hear about the need for more affordable housing.
I'm working with Senators Merkley and Wyden to resolve this issue so residents and businesses get their mail in a timely manner. If you're experiencing issues getting your mail, please contact my office at 503-469-6010.
