Friction in "learning" always pisses people off, so this makes sense to me. As someone who used to teach, nothing annoys students more than refusing to tell them something. While good students "get" why, bad ones just get mad at you.

Worth reading the study itself. Fundamentally, if you give people an instant answer button, they'll just use it rather than actually learning anything, even if they don't realize that is what they are doing.

get your shit (slowly) rocked

This has been a persistent regular thing in every subcultural circle I've ever been in and especially furry, and especially online. I sometimes worry folks have internalized social media to the extent they believe mob violence is the only valid communication style, it's frustrating as heck.

Ok. I finally had time to beat Control Resonant. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone, but I feel the same as I did after the first game. I am so glad people are still making art like this. I am glad people are still making video games that make me feel this way. What a masterpiece.

side note, seeing the other voices here: it feels as if there are few places CMs can go to talk shop or share the struggles that won't also have a reputational impact!

stay: i feel like i get to experiment a lot, get a lot of say over messaging, and get to be at the epicenter of something that feels special + the community is extremely passionate/talented it takes an IMMENSE amount of effort to not fall into burnout, though!

CUTE

@strasz.bsky.socialOct 7, 2026, 9:39 PM

Anyway, if you find this happening to you more often than not (believing wrong things from headlines, hateposting, etc) then you need to rethink your epistemological standards and probably engage in cardio or something i don't know i can't be your camp counselor

@strasz.bsky.socialOct 7, 2026, 9:39 PM

I'm not saying you shouldn't be upset at things in the world! You should! Shit sucks! But if you're a throbbing nerve screaming at headlines or losing your ability to see the humanity in others, you're just willfully engaging in digital self harm in an attempt to belong.

@strasz.bsky.socialOct 7, 2026, 9:39 PM

If you are constantly angry all the time on the internet, you're an easy mark. Not only are you an easy mark, but you don't even have to be targeted! People can just throw a handful of vague trigger words in your direction and all of a sudden you'll turn into a terminator and start rage posting

@strasz.bsky.socialOct 7, 2026, 9:39 PM

Most of the comments here assume Discord was breached. They were not! At all! It has virtually nothing to do with them! The headline does not help! When people in the comments are told this, they are folding their arms and saying some variant of "ok bootlicker"

sorry

@strasz.bsky.socialOct 7, 2026, 5:28 PM

deeply infuriating that it's nearly impossible to build housing due to all kinds of stupid ordinances and zoning and nimby shit, yet you can construct a giant imposing structure complete with industrial generators next to grandma's house

@strasz.bsky.socialOct 7, 2026, 5:13 PM

not for nothing, but i love how the first two are like (relatively) normal looking warehouses, sans the cooling units that give it away but the third? welcome to the neighborhood, we have OMINOUS BLACK CUBE

@strasz.bsky.socialOct 7, 2026, 5:07 PM

I didn't start running until I was like 34 or 35! Feeling this way was a big motivator, though. I once read that you don't start "getting in shape" to "feel better," so much as you do to pause the clock. If you start in your 30s, you basically will make your 40s feel like 30s, and so on

@strasz.bsky.socialOct 7, 2026, 4:52 PM

I'm not 100% sure yet -- but (in the meantime) I think world page would be fine

@strasz.bsky.socialOct 7, 2026, 2:34 PM

i didn't start to feel this until my mid 30s. i thought i escaped but then i felt it all at once
