The only reason relocation "hangs" over the Blazers negotiations in Portland is because the media keep bringing it up. There are no superior available markets/offers, and there's not even a hard deadline to complete a deal.

Dundon does not view the new year as a strict deadline to reach an agreement. He said that it “would be great to be done by then” but that the two sides would continue to try to forge a deal. Less clear is what happens if the negotiations fall through. “We have four years to figure it out,” Dundon said. “So hopefully we never are in that position.”
