couldn't organise a row in a cannery

this has absolutely blown my mind

this analogy falls down because dividing zero by zero is actually really easy and the answer is definitely zero (say you are dividing a pizza, and the amount of pizza you have is zero, nobody is going to get any pizza simple as that. & luckily you don't have anyone to divide it among either)

"can I get a hit, can I get a hooh / give me a fat pack of weed and a brew" (from 'roll it up light it up smoke it up') excitingly features a reprise of sen dog's owl impression

"Like Louis Armstrong played that trumpet I hit that bong and break you off something. Soon I got to get my props, cops come and try to steal my crops." Highway Rat sequel that almost writes itself.

just remembered that in the underrated cypress hill song "cock the hammer", there's a bit where sen dog sings "hear me growl, grr, howl / I've got night vision like a wise old owl". can anyone think of other cypress hill lyrics which could also appear in julia donaldson books?

what is your feeling about "shocktober"

@londonreviewbookshop.co.ukOct 6, 2026, 1:35 PM

very pleased to hear that ice cube has won the nobel prize in physics for inventing a neutrino detector. going from 'straight outta compton' to '21 jump street' is impressive enough;' a third career change, at an age when many of his ruthless records labelmates are calling it a day, is commendable

just seen on the tfl app that there are severe delays on both the victoria and the metropolitan line, so under the circs, we are extending the entry time for "ten-minute twix", by a further ten minutes

@londonreviewbookshop.co.ukOct 1, 2026, 12:39 PM

the entry time for "ten minute twix" is being extended by a further ten minutes (actually 14 minutes because there was a sudden rush of customers, none of whom turned out to be bringing a twix). the new deadline is at *13.50*. that's 13.50, ten to two. good luck!!!

@londonreviewbookshop.co.ukOct 1, 2026, 12:26 PM
