I agree it’s a pretty shitty thing to do to all 12 Deno users

I just want to get acquired by Cloudflare too. Is that too much to ask?

Welcome to the future of thinking. NERVE CENTER premieres next Thursday on InfoWars.

I have to say, these AI music videos are impressive. It would take a team of animators many weeks (months?) to create this kind of output, to say nothing of actually producing the music.

Also, very fitting subject matter…

@jeffcannata.bsky.social I heard you were coming to Japan, if you ever happen to be in Kyoto I would love to say hello!

Randomly stumbed on @futurism.com and it reads like if pro-AI people wanted to parody anti-AI views, except it's real, if that makes sense

P.S. link to the Stack Overflow survey:

My conclusion: in 2027, anything you produce must be more engaged, more direct, more impactful. In other words, more human.

@sachagreif.comOct 8, 2026, 8:12 AM

I'm pretty sure that if I don't course-correct now, within a year my own work on similar surveys will be dismissed as AI slop.

In fact, it's already happened in a recent @front-end-fire.com episode, where a mistake *I* made was attributed to AI instead.

@sachagreif.comOct 8, 2026, 8:12 AM

But none of that addresses my initial concern: at the end of the day, who is this all for? Are we collecting important data for researchers, academics, and regular readers; or are we leveraging AI to produce more and more content that will never be useful–except to be summarized by other AIs?

@sachagreif.comOct 8, 2026, 8:12 AM

They even give you access to their internal survey definition, through a custom-built tool: releases-2026.questions.survey.stackoverflow.co#q-JobSat

And I have to assume this too was possible through AI-assisted coding.

@sachagreif.comOct 8, 2026, 8:12 AM

Don't get me wrong, the report they produced is amazing. And the infrastructure they've developed shares a lot in common (data export, open-source question definitions, etc.) with the concepts I've used in the Devographics surveys myself (and even expands on them).

@sachagreif.comOct 8, 2026, 8:12 AM

But if your content needs to be summarized by Claude, why not just feature the summary from the start? Or maybe a summary of the summary, to be even more effective?

@sachagreif.comOct 8, 2026, 8:12 AM

Stack Overflow's solution? *More* AI! They actually have "summarize with Claude/ChatGPT" quick links in this year's survey results.

@sachagreif.comOct 8, 2026, 8:12 AM

When faced with pages after pages of AI-generated conclusions, it's easy to start wondering what the point even is. And eventually, that attitude can even start contaminating how you feel about *human*-produced reports.

@sachagreif.comOct 8, 2026, 8:12 AM

The problem is that human curation is precisely what gives these reports their value. You invest the time to dig through the data because someone decided you needed to see these charts.

@sachagreif.comOct 8, 2026, 8:12 AM

It's now trivial to point LLMs at a dataset and ask them to spit out reports and visualizations that are way more elaborate than what could be reasonably expected from a human.

@sachagreif.comOct 8, 2026, 8:12 AM

I am seriously reconsidering the role online surveys have to play in the era of AI.

@sachagreif.comOct 7, 2026, 11:39 AM

see this is not fair, because you're way nicer and better-spoken than the average online person. how are humans supposed to compete with that…?

@sachagreif.comOct 7, 2026, 11:38 AM

As a solo entrepreneur, AI-assisted coding has been great, letting me outsource the parts of the stack I'd rather not deal with (back-end, etc.).

Out there in the real world though, it seems like managers are doing a horrible job of setting sane boundaries.
