I'm ace. This sucks.
And while we rightly tsk this Sahelian nation, compulsory sexuality is very real here in the West.

People act like you can't tell whether something was coded with ai. Like it's clear for art, but not other stuff. ...the ai projects I've seen are nearly universally *viscerally* revolting. The design is just so, very completely, thoughtless. Just shockingly clear that nobody cares.
Fossil nerds/paleontologists: A friend has a cool kid in the US looking for a fossil adventure for his make a wish trip after cancer treatment. Any suggestions for a place to travel and see or dig up fossils?

So this is just my Friday evening post to say trying to make a difference isn't silly. It isn't pointless. Even if we never fully see the results of our efforts directly spelled out for us, we still experience them and so does the world. Somewhere, to someone, what we've done has really mattered.
It's so hard to know if you've made any difference but I think that for all of us who have been trying to do good in the world, we have made differences. Just ones we don't see. And that all this? This awfulness we're facing? It could have been that much worse.
