I listened to WMAD in the car back then. I vividly remember the early Friday afternoon special, with John Hartford's "Boogie" followed immediately by the Easybeats' "Friday On My Mind." (Most afternoons, though, I listened to WORT, which at that time programmed eclectic rock shows in that block.)

44 years ago tonight, on Oct. 14, 1982, I saw Warren Zevon do a show in Madison, Wisconsin. I was young and hadn’t seen a lot of shows, so I thought it was tremendous. I bought two tickets, hoping someone could go along. I wound up eating one. That’s why you see a full ticket here.
