A couple of perfectly random Cubs pages.
Congrats, Vince. Cleveland finally beat Chicago in a winner-take-all game at Jacobs Field.
Gene Tenace was born on this date in 1946. 🤟
Doing a little sorting tonight (decided to include the autographed cards with the team sets, instead of separately). Struck by this fun cross-section of the last 40 or so years of Cubs baseball.
When work has you in Joliet on a beautiful morning—of course you stop by to check out the new and improved Jesse Barfield statue.
Rich Kee shared the passing of Fred Claire last night. I asked Fred in ‘21 if he’d help judge the Josh Gibson card art contest. Super easy to tell an internet rando no. Instead shared how grateful he’d be to honor a man his friend Campy spoke so highly of. Kindness thru and thru. A great soul. RIP.
So true! I could have shared dozens (hundreds?) of photos of baseball adventures along the way this season. The sting of a listless ending to the 2026 Cubs campaign is tough to bear as a fan, but could never overshadow the time I got to spend with people I care about watching the game I love.
Highlight of the year for me!
The first Saturday without Cubs baseball for a while is a melancholy occasion. But I sure had some fun along the way with family and friends. Plus, I had the once-in-a-lifetime chance to operate the scoreboard during a game. Don’t be sad it’s over, be happy for the memories made.
Absolutely, including this sweet minor league in-person auto!
To any Cubs fans looking for good news—today is Héctor Villanueva’s birthday.
Cubs legend, Oscar Gamble!
That Bregman, in particular, is awesome.
I will not stand for such libel! This is literally just garland in the john, sans agenda.
Jon Garland was born on this date in 1979. Also, as a reminder, it is too early to decorate for Christmas.
Oh yeah @seank138.bsky.social!
I write sins not tragedies.
