Most #KidLitArtPostcard Days, I tout myself as author-illustrator. That's still me! I have stories + dummies + will be querying again soon.
But you know what I've *always* wanted to illustrate? BOOK COVERS. So here's a mockup for The Westing Game, the classic MG mystery.
dc statehood is non-negotiable after trump's actions in his second term. republicans despise the people of the city that hosts them, and there is little reason to think that, now that the seal is broken on treating them as an occupied population, a next republican president will be more restrained
thank you!!
Thank you!!
Happy #KidLitArtPostcard day! I'm an author-illustrator seeking representation. I ❤️ colorful textural art, funny stories for kids, and Anne "so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers" Shirley of Green Gables.
(Repurposing old art this month because time flies!)
I know! I hadn't read the part about it needing to be from EXCLUSIVELY the 21st century and tried to add them.
I voted in the best TV shows thingamajig! Here's my ballot! (My agenda was to boost delightful shows that trend under-appreciated or off radar. An honest top 10 would for sure include Parks and Rec, New Girl, The Good Place. Declaring "favorites" stresses me out; spotlighting gems is easier!)
Heads up, Bookworms: There will likely be💀supply chain issues💀 this holiday season. So if there are specific books you have your heart set on for holiday gifting, I strongly suggest you buy/order them ahead of time (✨like now✨) rather than waiting until November/December.
As a kid I was obsessed with Chris Van Allsburg's The Mysteries of Harris Burdick. This sentence would be GREAT in that book, with spooky pencil art of the remnants of a food fight, peppered with many-sized footprints, viewed through a broken glass door upon which a shaggy figure hangs a sign.
I hope folks understand that this is a reaction to the Ellipse, the Reflecting Pool, the East Wing, the fences, the barriers, the National Guard, and the general state of the city, as well as the Kennedy Center.
Elly de la Cruz, Rosie Red, and free pizza after 11 strikeouts. It's not much, but it'll get me to tune back in next year after the stinker that is 2026.
Justice for Grover as The Creature Who is Definitely Not Stirring in the Sesame Street gang’s seminal production of “The Night Before Christmas” as seen in A Muppet Family Christmas. Anyway, booo AI.
Ooh, dangerous. That's how Nutella ends up in my pantry.
But truly, Legends of Tomorrow is so good. I put together a watch plan for my parents when I convinced them a few years ago, to navigate the Arrowverse crossovers and that *terrible* first season. I will happily share with anyone. Here's an early s2 scene, when they were just learning to have fun:
Whenever the "Gorilla Grodd attacks young Obama in his dorm" scene from Legends of Tomorrow makes the social media rounds, I'm bummed it doesn't include this, the OTHER Grodd-Obama scene. Barry trying to bipartisan "yes we can" a HOMICIDAL GORILLA is peak comedy. And this actor's Obama voice? 👏👏👏
I shared my own (Dayton-based!) story as a quote-post. But secondarily: I remember being REALLY scared for the Reds, because they were in Chicago at the time, and there were lots of Chicago-based rumors.
I was a freshman at the University of Dayton. The evening of 9/11, a sonic boom from planes taking off from Wright Patt Air Force Base coincided with a random fire. I have a vivid memory of experiencing both from my dorm window, plus a vague memory that there were rumors of a bombing in Dayton.
I love the color of this one!
Happy #KidLitArtPostcard day! I'm an author-illustrator seeking representation. I ❤️ colorful textural art, good stories for kids, and chickens, which are inherently funny, especially when they're pondering.

For your consideration.
This is one of my favorite books, and it’s had some well designed covers. But most either lean on motifs (Chess! $$! Fireworks and other Americana!) or, if painting a narrative scene, just highlight Turtle, the kid reader stand-in. But for me, the charm of the story is its large ensemble cast. So!
