Getz may be Exec of the Year, but he saw 1) their staff all year, and 2) a wide-open AL. Of their 4 trade acquisitions, 1 made the ALDS roster—it wasn’t a pitcher. So, while one can/will get on Venable for decisions on his managerial learning curve, he was cutting bomb wires for weeks.

The White Sox 2026 can/will assuredly be spun with “what an amazing ride! (True!) This will be GREAT for the young core to go/grow through together (also true)” It can also be true that it was a missed opportunity. And that franchise knows well, you can’t rest on “competitive windows/schedules”

Joe D's voice box has been hanging on by a thread since his last regular-season series on SNLA. The "national" conversation about supposed bias and call quality is silly when he's healthy, it's been especially misguided recently given he simply has not been able to let it go on calls--LA or ATL.

WHAT?!?!? Kidding (kind of). I'm not sure you can full adjust to be honest. It has absolutely impacted calls and vocal cords, particularly on radio because we have less technology than a full TV truck audio system. So you're kind of fighting the sound mix a bit more, if that makes sense.

jokes aside, this isn't what the Dodgers want from Snell. He drew the better game time/temp, the "cooler" atmosphere compared to the more angst-ridden Game 1 or a road-opening, pivotal Game 3. And he's already laboring, fighting command, maybe nibbling, certainly issuing walks.
