This puzzle looked fun.
If I did my arithmetic right, I got 1751. I wonder if there's a higher score. (I don't know of a method to use. I did use a few strategies.)

Math enthusiast, teacher, writer, parent, lesbian. Covid-cautious. Wondering how we build community for collapse.
Anyone who works for USA Today will be pulling this dirty trick, apparently, since this seems to be USA Today policy.
'even' isn't the right word there. Of course those close to him get stuck with his obnoxiousness.
I'm not sure they care. It's their rich donors they care about.

Cute! (I wonder if they could compete some way other than a fight?)
Leaders is not the right word. Rulers, perhaps?
And I just hit 70 two days ago.
That's definitely beyond my lifetime. Hmm, I guess you're a young whippersnapper compared to me. (I think I'm 30 years older than you. Shocking.)
I always hated that the textbooks gave that mnemonic. There is no reason for it, and students try to memorize then, instead of understand.
A comma would have helped a bit. Knowing the Mem Fox book probably would have helped. I can imagine a math(s) sheep. But what is a play sheep? Or is play a verb here? (Yep, the word play was confusing here.) Sorry if my confusion was disappointing to you. Did Australians all get it right away?
My absolute favorite part of writing this was reading David Butler's story, Maths Sheep Play Sheep, late last night. I was cackling... (@davidkbutler.bsky.social)
Blog post, out today in honor of Math Storytelling Day (and my birthday). Math stories rock!
Oh, I'm sure I've shaken my butt at them many times for just that reason.
Tomorrow is Math Storytelling Day. What's your story?
Cracking me up...

9-25 is also headed towards being 9-to-5 day in honer of Dolly Parton. She sure loved spreading the joy of stories, and I can certainly imagine her delight at the idea of math stories.

I made a little thing in desmos, to play with while thinking about slopes of curves. I'm trying to make a little thing in desmos for each chapter of Althea and the Mysteries of Calculus.
Do you like it?
