Protecting the wealth of billionaires is the exact opposite of what we need in America, and I'm sorry to see Newsom taking this position. We need billionaires to pay their fair share of taxes and we need to get oligarch money out of politics.

There would be no Trump if we had an educated electorate, but we don't. Now the question is, do we care about democracy enough to actually fight for it? We are being put to the test.

If Democrats do not make getting money out of politics a priority, we will have learned nothing from the Trump era, and we will eventually get another Trump.
