With the club game back up and running after the recent FIFA window, Sergiño Dest is in the starting lineup at right back for PSV vs. Heerenveen. Ricardo Pepi not on the gameday roster as he recovers from injury. #usmnt

The just concluded international window couldn't have gone much better for the #usmnt and manager Mauricio Pochettino. The next generation got its international baptism and the U.S. won all four of its matchups. But some lineup questions linger.

Amid reports of an upcoming move to Europe this winter that could be announced as early as next week, Mexico's Rafael Marquez praised teen phenom Gilberto Mora and his ability to "succeed" abroad

The #usmnt faced a different kind of challenge in a physical and talented Canada side on Tuesday. But as they have throughout this window, the U.S. made enough plays to emerge victorious, 1-0. For the younger players, the experience will be invaluable down the road.

U.S. Soccer spokesperson says Justin Ellis has a right lower leg contusion and is being evaluated. #usmnt #OrlandoCity

FT: #usmnt 1-0 Canada. A different kind of win, against a physical opponent, but a win nonetheless. Ellis got the goal, & the backline held firm, despite some intense Canada pressure in the 2nd half. Better yet, youngsters received more minutes. Not always pretty, but U.S. finishes window 4/4.

HT: #usmnt 1-0 Canada. More street fight than soccer game. Foul count is 12-10 in favor of Canada. And the ref let a LOT go I thought. Kids coming through again, with Ellis getting the goal. Thought backline was pretty solid. Midfield turnovers, an issue. US needs to keep its cool.

Goal #usmnt! Freeman and Tillman with great combination play down the right wing, and Freeman's cross is hammered home by Ellis. Possible offside, but goal is given. Amazing from Ellis given that he looked set to come off injured. He looks like he's still limping around, but no matter.

Anthem time. #usmnt

@jeffreycarlisle.bsky.socialOct 6, 2026, 11:05 PM

Good question. This is a competition, so it may be that Poch wants to reward a guy like Albert who has done well when he's come on. I'd say if Gozo doesn't come on at halftime, then something is probably up health-wise. #usmnt

Here is the #usmnt lineup against Canada: Schwake; Trusty, Campbell, Richards; Albert, Musah, Raines, Tillman, Freeman; Reyna, Ellis

Yes, this formation is a guess. We'll see how they start.

The fact that Reyna is starting again counts as a wow. That's eight games in a row for club & country.

Jesse Marsch insists he doesn't carry any grudge towards the #usmnt (and by extension the USSF), but says his team's rivalry with the U.S. is "something big" and that he won't have to do much to motivate his side. #CANMNT

Mauricio Pochettino said his side isn't in the best condition, given that the #usmnt has played three games this window compared to two for Canada, but that his team "will be ready" to face their northern neighbors.

Yes they can do the can-can.

It’s a lovely crisp, fall day here in St. Paul. All players present and accounted for. #usmnt

A text message from AC Milan manager Ruben Amorim told Yunus Musah he was a big part of the manager’s plans. After a difficult 2025-26, Musah was skeptical. But Amorim was true to his word, & Musah’s career is on an upward trajectory again for club & country. #usmnt

Your ears didn’t deceive you. Very tough night for Rangel. For El Tri, the return of Luis Malagon can’t happen soon enough.

@jeffreycarlisle.bsky.socialOct 4, 2026, 6:07 AM

More Sullivan on if he was shocked to find the ball at his feet following Rangel's misplayed pass.

"Yeah, a little shocked, but you can't let that excitement get to you. I just went for it." #usmnt

@jeffreycarlisle.bsky.socialOct 4, 2026, 6:06 AM

Cavan Sullivan was holding the game ball afterwards, and was asked what he's going to do with it.

"I guess get it signed by the guys. I don't really know what to do with it to be honest." #usmnt

With ESPN colleagues Omar Flores and @lizzybecherano.bsky.social ... Sullivan stars, and so does Hall in #usmnt win over Mexico.

@jeffreycarlisle.bsky.socialOct 4, 2026, 4:02 AM

FT: #usmnt 3-0 #ElTriEng. Hall and Sullivan will get their deserved plaudits. They made the critical plays that got the result. The U.S. weathered the first half storm and punished Mexico's mistakes. That first half was rough though. Something to keep an eye on.
