New! It's 1984, and for Doctor Who it's a year of two Doctors - and they're starting to look at risk of outnumbering the viewers...

Watch - BBC Schools factual miscellany outlining scientific concepts, geographic expansion and putative historical veracity of myths and legends through the medium of songs, films, dramatised segments and - usually - cutting up paper plates with scissors.

Which one was that other dickhead who continually posted racist tripe whilst inexplicably having Orson Welles as his avatar? I hope he's doing not well!!

I literally just saw someone collecting an ordered copy in Waterstones! I did not solicit her opinions on Ironheart.

I should take advantage of the opportunity here to say that I have a book. It’s sold considerably more than 106 copies but I would definitely like to sell some more and if you hate everything Braverman stands for, you’ll enjoy it. geni.us/BreakingMicW...

Suella Braverman selling 106 copies of her book after all that publicity is so delicious.

Crack 'em while you can, though, because Suella's star might just be on the skids. Despite plugging her book on Question Time, on Tim Shipman's Spectator podcast, in serialised excerpts in the Daily Mail, and in a fawning interview with Allison Pearson in the Telegraph, in its opening weekend, Patriot sold precisely 106 copies.

From Kenneth Williams spoofing arts documentaries to Armando Iannucci's interval talks, it's The Larks Ascending - a guide to comedy on BBC Radio 3. Paperback or Kindle from here!

My favourite playground urban myth was always the purported existence of 'bloodsuckers' - worms that would drain your body in contact, causing en masse clambering on walls if one was 'spotted'. What unlikely rumours did the rounds at your school?

Staggering now to think just how MASSIVE the early nineties Thunderbirds (and Stingray - Joe 90 never quite took off) revival was, inspired by little more than opportunistic repeats. The Blue Peter Tracy Island alone could probably never happen in the same way now.

You don't seem to hear David Essex's big seventies hits on the radio very much any more - which is a shame as they are, as the young people would have it - 'proper bangers'.

Army And Navy Sweets - the harsh-tasting cough-loosening hardcore choice of anyone who wants to test their Pick'n'Mix tolerance to the limits. Probably a safer option to stick with Flying Saucers.

What else was on television - and radio - on the same evening as the third episode of 1965 Doctor Who story Galaxy 4? I had a look here, and it turns out there was WAY too much politics on even back then...

This Is The One, which of course only ended up on the album at the last minute when they couldn't nail Where Angels Play to their satisfaction. Like all good anthems.

Looks like television this morning is a straight choice between one award-winning screenwriter saying "I am right about everything but it is down to everyone else to sort it out come on chop chop" and another doing much the same on the other side. Bring back Morning Worship.

The overall impression I got from seeing The Stone Roses live more than once at the time was that Made Of Stone was widely considered the 'boring one'.
