'Don't Look Now' is on BBC2 at 22.45, tonight, which means I can swerve another day of making a fresh Hallowmeme.

This alt-text contains a +++SPOILER+++ for the movie, so if you haven't seen it, now is the time to stop reading. It's the 4 panel Drake meme, but Drake has been swapped for Donald Sutherland in "Don't Look Now". The top left panel shows a smiling Donald pointing at the image of his daughter, wearing her red jacket and holding a pretty mad looking toy, in the top right panel. The bottom left panel shows a distraught Donald holding his hands up to avoid getting slashed by the diminutive serial killer wearing a hooded red duffel coat and holding onto a vicious looking knife in the bottom right panel.

@lucysullivan.bsky.social made the art for this film, and imho, there's a lot more of her in the film than that. It's amazing. You can stream it on the bfi player now

THE MOVIE IS NOT OUT YET. THE “OPENING” HAS NOT HAPPENED. Fear-mongering your headlines like this will only discourage people from watching it when it **does** come out.

Have you played a lot of darts, Gail?

How's the weekend been? Malta seems like such a fun event and I'm looking for a grand excuse to return to the island.

If it wasn't for Cage's standing in Hollywood and his establishment with the Spider-Noir character via the Spider-Verse film, it's likely he would have been strongarmed into signing. How far up the celebrity food chain do you have to be before not signing the waiver means simply not working?

@englishmansdcc.bsky.socialOct 11, 2026, 6:21 AM

People are gravitating towards the 'Nicolas Cage is a stand-up guy, fighting his corner against AI creative overeach' and that's great and how it should be, fine. But not enough is being made that a studio has AI waivers on standby for talent, in front and behind the camera, that you HAVE to sign.

I was not able to attend the Harvey Awards but I sent a speech in case I won, so here it is! Thank you for this honour, animation people are the best people & fuck A*I ☺️

Thank you so much for this award, I am truly honoured! Thank you to my amazing publisher, First Second, my amazing editor Samia Fakih, my amazing literary agent Bernadette Baker-Baughman, and my original editor, Calista Brill, who plucked me out of obscurity over a decade ago and gave me the opportunity to become the cartoonist I am today. Calista was also the one who suggested I make a graphic novel about my art school trauma, so it’s her fault that Inbetweens exists. Thank you to my husband Tim, who has been with me since the beginning of my comics career. Sharing a love of creativity, comics and animation with you is the best part of my day.
Inbetweens is inspired by my own experience attending a competitive animation college. My experience at animation college and in the animation industry post-graduation was pretty mixed, for a variety of reasons. Eventually I was able to leave animation and find a career in comics, which is where I really belong. But I made incredible friends during my time in the animation industry, and met my husband at the last animation studio I worked at. Even though animation didn’t work out for me as a career, I’m forever grateful for the people it brought into my life. Those in my animation community, my friends, my colleagues, and my partner, are some of the most creative and hardworking people I know. Now they and the animation industry as a whole faces the threat of billion dollar studios enamoured with the false promise of Artificial Intelligence, the ability to cut humans out of the act of creating. I am just one small cartoonist, but I can at least speak up and say animation is nothing without the people behind it.
Thank you again for this honour, Harvey Awards. Thank you for embracing my story about kids struggling with art and choosing art because the struggle is worth it. Art is frustrating and wonderful and messy and fulfilling and most of all, art is human. Thank you again.

Students made their first minicomics in my intro making course - mostly standard format but this student, a first time maker(!), did something so off the charts I’m still reeling from it! & he made like 12 of them for his classmates! A paper engineering feat of flipbookery as well as killer drawing!

Agreed. Stephanie's run on Daredevil has been nothing short of stunning so far.
