Quite a bit of sunshine today. Clouds thicken up Monday with rain moving southward from NB and rain just clipping SW NS. Seasonable low-mid teens today & Monday. The rain band dissipates Monday night for a nice drive to CB on Tuesday. Rain moves into the west Wednesday morning; reaches CB late aftn.

@yhzweatherguy.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 11:07 AM

A chilly NW breeze today. Sunshine xcp clouds in parts of N NB & off the Gulf; showers most likely CB Highlands. Fine sun cloud mix Sunday. Low teens returning. Monday, the Maritimes squeezed between rain from Isaiais to the south & a front sliding in from the north. Much of the say will be fine.

@yhzweatherguy.bsky.socialOct 9, 2026, 10:28 AM

Nice sunny start today. Late aftn cloudiness & scattered showers. Chilly and breezy on Saturday. Onshore showers most likely CB Highlands. Sunday looks to be a fine day. Hurricane Isaias makes landfall just east of Mobile AL this eve. Light rain from the weakened system may clip ATL coast NS Monday.

Certainly we could have strong winds... but I will keep an eye on the temperature for our planned road trip along the Cabot Trail! I won't use the "s" word yet :-)

Finally in October, we have our first Atlantic Hurricane: Isaias. It wall make landfall on the Gulf (of Mexico) coast near the Florida Panhandle. The moisture will move off the Atlantic Mideast coast and pass well south of NS. Models do suggest a winter-type storm for the Maritimes on Wednesday???

Funny... yes, Amanda, Halloween is your responsibility! and the kids hope you are wrong 🎃

@yhzweatherguy.bsky.socialOct 8, 2026, 6:11 PM

Way too early to guess... Do you have any predictions :-) take care Jim

A cold front with showers at times heavy over NW NB will gradually move into PEI & NS late this aftn then leave the Maritimes overnight. Mostly fine sun cloud mix Friday with scattered late day showers. A mostly fine long weekend as well. Any showers more likely over E NS or E PEI. not bad!

@yhzweatherguy.bsky.socialOct 7, 2026, 9:58 AM

Sunshine & less wind than Monday. Warms up to 20C in the Annapolis Valley in a south breeze Thurs. Then a cold front & showers moves from N NB in the aftn thru NS at night Cooler W-NW winds & a mix of sun and passing showers on the weekend. Maybe rain & mild on Monday: remnants of Isaias pass south

@yhzweatherguy.bsky.socialOct 6, 2026, 10:42 AM

Strong west winds & chilly today. 70-90km/h possible PEI; likely CB highlands. A sun cloud mix with showers most likely N NB & Inverness Co. Sunny Wednesday with low-mid teens. Thursday & through the weekend a mix of sunshine and passing showers. Enjoy the sun but keep an eye on the radar.

@yhzweatherguy.bsky.socialOct 5, 2026, 10:40 AM

Bands of showers or drizzle passing across the Maritimes today. Sun cloud mix with strong west winds Tuesday. Spotty onshore drizzle (showers N NB) on Tuesday. Mostly sunny Wednesday. A mix of sun and brief showers through the long weekend.

@yhzweatherguy.bsky.socialOct 4, 2026, 10:57 AM

Clear skies this am; below zero in much of NB & some low spots elsewhere. Warm ocean & lakes show up nicely on IR satellite image. Showers move in overnight and spread eastward on Monday. Clears up Tuesday; spotty showers north & east. Gusty west winds. Decent amount fair weather into Thanksgiving.

@yhzweatherguy.bsky.socialOct 3, 2026, 11:09 AM

Showers along the cold front has moved offshore. A fine weekend with seasonable highs in the teens. Showers redevelop over the Maritimes Monday morning; clearing and gusty southwest winds Tuesday. Thanksgiving weekend looks OK... a mix of sun and passing shower systems.

@yhzweatherguy.bsky.socialOct 2, 2026, 7:41 PM

Nova Scotia the warmest area in Canada as of 4:30ADT today. Ahead of the front, southern NB and eastern PEI reached the low 20's earlier today.

@yhzweatherguy.bsky.socialOct 2, 2026, 11:04 AM

Sunny breaks allow temps to rise to low-mid 20's today. A cold front with rain & drizzle moves into N NB this aftn then gradually south tonight moving offshore NS early Saturday. Cooler teens on weekend; but SW NS may reach 20C in the NW flow. Fine again Sunday. Rain or showers develop Sunday night

@yhzweatherguy.bsky.socialOct 1, 2026, 8:18 PM

As commented by @kevinthecurler.bsky.social and others, the sun failed to show in Halifax. While the majority of the Maritimes saw sunshine and low-mid 20's, the Fundy and much of the Atlantic coasts had persistent low cloud that kept the temps in the teens. Sigh...

@yhzweatherguy.bsky.socialOct 1, 2026, 11:44 AM

A couple of warm days ahead to start October. A cold front with rain moves into N NB Friday afternoon, with cooler air. t the front moves south Friday night. The weekend that follows will be cooler, but a fine sun cloud mix. Next rain Sunday night...

@yhzweatherguy.bsky.socialSep 30, 2026, 11:31 AM

September rainfalls show a transition from 50% of normal in NW NB to more than double normal in CBRM. Just patchy drizzle today, skies clear first in the west with a few 20's. Lots of 20's tomorrow and Friday to start October. A cold front passes with rain late Friday. First half October fairly dry.

@yhzweatherguy.bsky.socialSep 29, 2026, 10:23 AM

Showers/drizzle persist today; ease off in N NB. Patchy drizzle in parts of NS Wednesday with at least partial clearing in the aftn. Fairly mild with a few 20's in spite of the dampness; quite a few 20's on Friday. Then a cold front with showers crosses the region Friday night. Fine & cooler weekend

@yhzweatherguy.bsky.socialSep 28, 2026, 11:19 AM

A band of rain at times heavy over SW areas at 8am gradually moves east (Halifax before noon; Sydney not til evening). Expect 25mm. Showers or drizzle persist after the rain; gradually improving in the north Tuesday then the south on Wednesday. Then a fine stretch thru the weekend.
