An Open Letter To The People Writing Lengthy Posts About 'Why I'm Going Back to Twitter'
Mine is to make sure I take a nap π Few more hours in me yet I reckon, but I can feel the tiredness setting in
That is fun, unfortunately goes against my β³Ε policy with the pixel-art and most likely code too. But I'd love to try and make something like that some time :)
If not bot icon, why bot shaped? π€
ah thanks! It was partially inspired from when I tested the '/random' link in my footer, and realised it could throw unsuspecting folks into one of these pages π
Ohhh that would be cool! I had thought about obscuring or poisoning the well for _certain_ crawlers but haven't tried to implement anything like that yet,
Heydon has a interesting approach to it

Funny you say that, because I have on my "future stuff / post-launch" board, some ideas for lil interactive whimsy bits :) a flamethrower being one of them π
Overkill thing to add? hell yeah, maybe? π But with it I've got to practice SVG filters, 11ty Fetch, Sharp image processing, and running code before or after the 11ty / BuildAwesome build process. Already got a few skills picked up from here to apply to another project π₯³
Running the function right before the rest of the 11ty/Build Awesome build too, so that all the images are ready to go. Now, by default there won't be any non-pixelated photos loaded, unless a visitor specially enables it.
As a quick v2 before launch, it's now setup to fetch any arachnid photos needed, and then use the sharp library to process _actual_ pixelated images by first squishing down to 10x10px and then scaling back up to 300x300px.
The first iteration of my sites arachnid blocker was just a SVG pixelation filter. While the filter worked, it had the potential to fail if the CSS didn't load for whatever reason... suddenly, spiders everywhere! Now the build process will make images, instead of relying on a filter to obscure π€©
Love that thing, was a joy to setup too βΊοΈ
The 11ty / Build Awesome Fetch Plugin is so damn nice π€© It's made fetching and caching my CodePen demos a breeze, so now I can display it all nice on my site, automatically βΊοΈ
Holy shit π€― This and their Bring Me the Horizon - Doomed cover are getting _all_ the repeats this weekend π€
Sure is an "All Systems Operational" day for sure. It's been many hours now that I can't access GitHub in any reliable way π©
Me to your ISP π
Yay, thanks for sharing one of mine! I love the other two shared here also, they're amazing highlights π€©
Sweet, thanks for the weekend project :) excited to try this instead of the lil json file I was using and manually adding to before π€© now I should be able to fetch some other info (easier) too, like views or hearts π
