Ultimately, talking down to these types of people will just be a waste of time. The nicher you are, the harder it is to convince the masses that popular thing is not good for reasons.

Hype is just something you have to give caution to. We really don't know where GTA 6 could lean towards, all we know from history, based on how No Man's Sky and Cyberpunk 2077 went...people have huge expectations, and they're almost never met.

On that note, Nintendo is doing a good job making smaller experiences you could never get from other AAA developers...but let's not pretend to ourselves that there are quite a lot that want the next 3D Mario or Zelda game in the same vein as the next GTA. Same scenario, moreso for 3D Mario.

That doesn't mean they won't step up their game and try something they haven't done before, but generally this is the audience that GTA 6 seems to cater towards and what the general media landscape also wants to give attention to.

That greater gaming populace mind you would only ever play a Madden, FIFA/FC, NBA 2K, or the latest Call of Duty. It's the same reason people still do stupid shit even though they know it could be bad or bad for outside reasons: the average person tend to want the same experiences per year.

Honestly, it's mostly because of popularity. GTA isn't just a regular old AAA game; the last entry (GTA V) is the second best selling title of all time. As much as I feel you in most cases, it's just another case where the greater gaming populace stomps the enthusiasts.

Tho it honestly sucks that the game isn't entirely on the cart, I get it due to storage limitations for certain games like this collection, and storage is such a pain in the ass to get these days. At least they're on a game card and not digital-only.

Game key card or not, at the very least you can still trade it out if you're not feeling it. With digital, your luck is out of favor. Even still, better than an code in a box from the Switch generation, which most companies opted for.

I'm not knowledgeable on licensing violations like these, but at any rate please let these folks know this is not something they should be doing, and if nothing happens, let Creative Commons know this thing is not permissible.

Not only is this stupid, what SRC did is not allowed at all. Creative Common licenses are not revokable, and even if they shift away from it to do their stupid bidding, they are still required to say that older works are licensed under CC BY-NC 4.0. This is illegal to do.
