When I say the politics will become increasingly obvious... I mean look at this. If you want to unite the left/centre and split the Tories, without a big spending committment there's no better option.

Thank you. The symptoms have been obvious for quite a while. Good that the diagnosis is now undeniable. Europe needs to wake up. The threat is not only from the outside. It is more than obvious that the far left and far right are part of Putin's and Trump's plot to destabilize Europe

I will not only be relieved but truly *ecstatic* to be wrong, if more and better studies soon start showing that AI actually improves learning and cognitive motivation. But so far they all show the opposite, and that is consistent with the evidence that I and other educators are seeing on the ground

Let me see if I understand this . . . 1. The U.S. is at war with Iran. 2. Russia is helping Iran in that war. 3. The U.S. is now giving Russia money that it can use to help Iran destroy U.S. bases and kill U.S. troops. Donald is smart & patriotic like that.

The first Russian diesel cargo heading for the US left St Petersburg on September 22, two weeks *before* Trump announced the deal with Putin, Windward reports. The Greek-flagged tanker Minerva Zen carrying 275,000 barrels of diesel/gasoil is due at the US East Coast around 11–12 October.

Fascinating to watch people *still* fixate on whether Polanski should resign as Greens leader because of a by-election loss, after doing relatively well in what used to be a very safe Labour seat. On what basis? Farage has stood for parliament eight times.

If you ask the Islanders, they firmly say no. Maybe those who live in the Falklands should determine what happens with their Islands instead of a pound-shop fascist and his useful idiot.

Tbf, I think there's a good reason why. Neither have to worry about the nitty-gritty of politics so can say stuff out loud. Whereas, say, Burnham, might be well briefed but isn't going to openly say 'tech firms are a huge societal danger' straight up, as him saying so has lots of consequences.

My support for bluesky/atproto is pretty much explicitly a "political" project. It is bad for a small number of (mostly right-wing) people to literally own all the sources of media. Open-source algorithms + the ability to move your account without negative network effects opposes this.
