The crack team of reporters is up to ten 9/11 families. Just 1,990 to go!

2. Then the Post assigned 10 REPORTERS to track down more 9/11 families who want Mamdani banned. They are now up to 10 people. The last I’ve checked, that’s not “thousands.”

Stevens talking about something other than how it doesn’t bother her that people make fun of her accent is refreshing

Michiganders don’t put up with BS. Everywhere I go I talk to people who are fed up with Trump’s corruption, especially ICE’s abuse of power. It’s why I introduced the Hold ICE Accountable Act. We need to redirect their funding back to local communities.

🇵🇸💢 “The disaster is even more severe”: Israeli strike wipes out much of Gaza’s remaining strategic medical stockpile

An Israeli strike destroyed two of four central medicine warehouses at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, including equipment and solutions needed to keep kidney dialysis services operating.

Standing amid the wreckage, hospital director Raed Hussein told Drop Site contributor Abdel Qader Sabbah that the attack would have a “direct impact” on dialysis care and could force the hospital to halt treatment unless replacement supplies are secured.

“The damage is even greater, the disaster is even more severe, and it will make it much harder for us to respond in the coming period,” Hussein said.

Dr. Mounir al-Bursh, director general of Gaza’s Health Ministry, told Al Jazeera Arabic that the warehouses held the ministry’s strategic medical stockpile and that the strike destroyed large quantities of medicines and supplies.

More than 52% of medicines and 54% of medical supplies are now unavailable, including dialysis supplies, al-Bursh said.

He warned that Israel’s blockade, restrictions on medical imports, and repeated attacks on Gaza’s remaining healthcare infrastructure are depriving thousands of patients of treatment.

“The loss of these warehouses means losing life-saving medicines and making patient care even more difficult.”

Harold Meyerson flags that founding father Benjamin Franklin made a persuasive argument for the wealth tax, in a letter to Robert Morris, then the richest man in America and the financier of the revolution.

His basic argument: Public laws and society made you rich, so the public can decide what to do with the wealth we all collectively built. If you don't like that, he says, then leave society and go live with "the Savages." (Of course, the indigenous people of the time would not have allowed such greed in their societies, either.)

Happy early 4th!

🚨URGENT: Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya’s life is in immediate danger, Physicians for Human Rights Israel and his lawyer warned Saturday, after a prison visit revealed the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital bearing fresh, severe injuries to his head, eyes, ears, and neck, so disfigured his own attorney initially struggled to recognize him.

🔹Attorney Nasser Odeh, who saw Abu Safiya Thursday at the underground Rakefet interrogation facility in Nitzan Prison, said he arrived shackled hand and foot, escorted by masked guards, struggling to breathe and speak, unable to sit upright, and repeatedly on the verge of losing consciousness.

🔹Abu Safiya told him that after his Supreme Court appeal was heard June 10, four or five guards entered his solitary cell at Ganot Prison and beat him with a hammer and batons, and that since his June 24 transfer to Rakefet he has been beaten daily, losing consciousness several times without receiving medical treatment.

🔹“This is the last time you will see me,” he told his lawyer. “They brought me here to kill me. I don’t see myself surviving. This is the end.”

🔹PHRI notes the escalation in torture began directly after Abu Safiya challenged his detention in court. He has been held without charge since December 27, 2024, under Israel’s Unlawful Combatants Law.

🔹The group has appealed to Israel’s attorney general and prison service demanding his immediate transfer, an independent medical examination, and an urgent judicial visit “before it is too late.”

Drop Site (which has no editorial relationship with or connection to The Intercept) asked The Intercept how it learned of the breach, how long it has been ongoing, and whether they have communicated about the breach to potential sources. Their comment did not address those questions.

The statement from The Intercept: "After learning about an effort to impersonate The Intercept on social media and claiming our Signal tips account, The Intercept set up a new Signal username. We directed people to use only this newly established Signal account. We broadly disseminated that message both on our website, on social media, and in our newsletter. We have taken action to try to get the social media account removed."

They added, "We have received no information that any source was compromised."

It's not obvious, of course, how they would know if one was.

If the would-be leaker checked The Intercept's official website, the would see that the same username was listed, so would have reason to trust it.

Recently, the username was taken off the website, but the account is still soliciting tips:

🚨 Months ago, The Intercept lost control of its Signal tip line to an unknown third party, which has been operating it actively.

The Intercept recently learned of the breach and posted the innocuous-sounding update below, chalking up a change in the Signal account username to "security best practices."

In reality, it's a devastating operational security collapse and The Intercept should publicly address it so that sources who may have been trying to leak to the outlet understand they may have been compromised.

Please share this post so potential sources become aware of the risk they may have been duped into. Details below:
TThe Intercept@theintercept.comJun 30, 2026, 3:47 PM

In keeping with security best practices, we have updated our Signal tip line. If you want to contact The Intercept, please get in touch with our reporters individually or use the Signal account Theintercept_tips.01. Please do not use the username TheIntercept.01.

Incredible.

A liberal coalition is finally forming to push back against both the far right and the far left.

This week, they launched
@thepromise2026
, a public pledge with 13 sitting Congressmembers and candidates signing on, openly breaking with the DSA wing while refusing to be lumped in with MAGA.

Their commitments:

"We are capitalist, not socialist."
"We want safety, not lawlessness."
"We are responsible, not reckless."
"Government should solve problems, not create them."
"We are mainstream, not extreme."
"We are proud, not ashamed of America."

This is the kind of pro-America, anti-authoritarian coalition American politics desperately needs.

More of this, please.

“I run the protection program, I’ll protect you,” House Speaker Mike Johnson tells a room packed with members of the Epstein Class. To say this on camera reflects way too much sense of impunity.

AAcyn@acyn.bsky.socialJun 26, 2026, 5:05 PM

Johnson: If we lose the midterms, these Democrats will turn every committee of Congress into an investigative body, and they'll go after the president's family, the cabinet, his donors, friends, half of you in this room will be targeted. I run the protection program. We’ll take care of you.
