Coming out is personal and courageous. On National Coming Out Day, I celebrate those who live openly and authentically and I send support to those still on their coming out journey. I will always fight for our LGBTQ+ community to live without fear of hatred or discrimination.

Welcome home to the crew of the USS Abraham Lincoln! After an unprecedented and challenging deployment, I’m glad they’re safe and reunited with their loved ones. Today, we celebrate. Tomorrow, we continue to investigate what went wrong and how we can ensure these mistakes are never made again.

Officials were working on fire mitigation efforts before the 2025 Los Angeles fires. The permits took too long, and it had devastating consequences. My Fix Our Forests Act would have granted those permits in 6 months, not 4 years. Learn more about it at the link in my bio.

Federal methane regulations protect public health, curb the climate crisis, create jobs, & bolster national energy security. Repealing them makes it easier for fossil fuel companies to prioritize profits over health & safety. It's a step in entirely the wrong direction, at exactly the wrong moment.

Laurie from Point Loma needed help updating her pension and health insurance after her husband passed away. Due to staffing shortages at OPM, her case was stalled and she hadn’t heard from anyone. My office requested an update on her behalf and within weeks, her benefits were adjusted appropriately!

The cruelty of the Trump Administration knows no bounds. Kids being forced to represent themselves and file forms they may not even be able to read. That’s not due process. The Trump admin. must immediately restore the federal program to provide representation for unaccompanied migrant children.

It’s Food Safety Education Month - a time to learn how to prevent foodborne illness. Last year, the Trump admin gutted the workforce that inspected our food and now the FDA has recalled dozens of products. President Trump must restore the integrity of the FDA to keep our families safe and healthy.

AI is the most consequential technology of our lifetime, and right now the U.S. still sets the pace. I joined colleagues on the AI Working Group to urge the Trump Administration to continue that leadership and set real standards, so we stay both competitive and secure.

Americans rely on safe, effective products every day & they should know whether these products meet the highest health & safety standards. My new bill would give consumers that peace of mind & provide American producers the competitive advantage of a trusted, nationally recognized label. ⬇️

Wildfires aren't just taking our homes; they're taking the lives of those who put everything on the line to stop our communities from burning. My Fix Our Forests Act is a bipartisan, comprehensive approach to prevent more catastrophic wildfires and save lives.

Republicans often say the national debt is a spending problem, but it's a revenue problem too. At our Budget Committee field hearing in Texas this week, I made that case. We can't cover a growing debt with shortfalls, and it's time for everyone to pay their fair share.
