Stepping into the unknown on the back of science but leading with their hearts first. Stories about nerds coming together and solving problems. Celebrating their differences as a strength. Science and emotion, theorists and dreamers. Ah it's so fucking good. Let's hope for another 60.

Star Trek is 60 this year. It means so much to me. The invitation to imagine. Imagine wild adventures and imagine fascinating aliens and imagine wondrous technology. Imagine morality based on grace and empathy. Imagine knowledge based on science and curiosity.

It feels a little flat, visually. Which feels like a cliché criticism but I can't shake it

Switching to the Man City thing. Sure, they were a good team. Sure, they're a good team now. But they're cheats. If you're the best team in an under 11s league because you're playing 13 year olds, I don't have to stand and admire your play. You. Are. Cheats.

It doesn't help when the actor is working under something that doesn't feel natural. Strong looks like a guy who's been given a Zuckerberg haircut/wig for a movie. It doesn't read as real, to me.

I found Jeremy Strong's performance a little one note. It's much more of an impression than an interpretation. Jesse Eisenberg didn't sound like Zuckerberg, but he did convey that intensity and awkwardness in a much more convincing way - for me.

The Social Reckoning is decent. Hard not to compare it to The Social Network, which is close to flawless - it's not on that level at all. The message of the movie is really important and timely. We absolutely have to find a way to diminish the influence of these Tech Barons. They are hurting us.

I really appreciate that, thank you. I think ultimately I want people to feel physically affected, of course. But my favourite is when people are emotionally invested in that couple. Side note, I really love it when I find out couples are sharing the stories with one another.
