Nidal Hasan’s crimes were horrific and he deserves to be held accountable. But livestreaming an execution by firing squad is not justice, it is cruelty and degradation for sport. This exemplifies the sadism and moral decay at the center of the Trump Administration. America deserves better.

This #WorldMentalHealthDay, we acknowledge the importance of mental health and its vital impact on overall well-being.

President Trump is trying to remove protections from countless rivers, streams, and wetlands that would be susceptible to additional pollution and harm. Americans deserve clean water. We’ve opposed Trump’s efforts to weaken these national clean water protections before, and we’re doing it again.

Attorney General Bonta Rebukes Trump Administration’s Revised Attempt to Loosen National Clean Water Protections

“In the interest of science, public health, and environmental integrity, now is the time to strengthen — not weaken — clean water protections for everyone.”

Unemployment insurance can be what stands between working families and financial collapse when someone loses their job. Yet, the Trump Admin yanked Congressionally approved funds that would help states improve fraud prevention & ensure that workers can access the benefits they need. We’re suing.

At CA DOJ, we’ll continue to fight to protect the health and safety of our children and communities this #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek and every week.

@agrobbonta.oag.ca.govOct 8, 2026, 10:31 PM

Protecting the safety and mental well-being of children on social media is critical. My office secured a groundbreaking settlement with Meta to help do just that — ensuring safeguards such as blocks during vital hours of the night, bans on plastic surgery filters, and more.

We have a duty to Californians to be ready to respond to any attempts to interfere in our electoral process.

Our golden state is home to some of the most pristine and diverse ecosystems in the nation. We won’t stand by and allow the federal government to get rid of protections that safeguard forests from commercial exploitation that puts our wildlife, habitats, and clean water resources at risk.

@agrobbonta.oag.ca.govOct 7, 2026, 10:30 PM

The Trump Admin is attempting to rescind the Roadless Rule, which protects nearly 45 million acres of national forest lands from road construction, timber harvesting, mining, and oil and gas development in some of the last protected stretches of forests nationwide. We’re opposing.

U.S. Forest Conservation
"We will not stand by and allow the federal government to subject our National Forests to commercial exploitation.

Opportunity should not depend on income, and as Attorney General, I always fight back against heartless policies that put our children’s futures at risk.

Every child deserves a fair shot to succeed, which is what Head Start provides for millions of families across California and the country. That’s why we’re opposing the Trump Admin’s effort to rollback critical Head Start standards that work to level the playing field for kids.

San Diego, Los Angeles, and the entirety of our nation deserve better. This is a shocking low, even for Donald Trump.

@agrobbonta.oag.ca.govOct 6, 2026, 4:13 PM

The President callously called the lives of 13 million Americans “a small price to pay” in his war. Comments like these from the commander in chief are unworthy of the office. Republican, Democrat, it makes no difference: the President’s obligation to defend all Americans is sacred.

At CA DOJ, we’ll continue to fight to hold companies skirting the law accountable and ensure all workers receive the full pay they deserve.

In 2020, we took Lyft to court for dodging their obligations to provide full pay to drivers from 2016-2020 by misclassifying their workers as independent contractors. Last week, we secured the largest misclassification recovery in CA history—with $237 million going back to thousands of drivers.

CA is committed to fighting for solutions that help everyday people such as reducing truck traffic, noise, and pollution, and preventing potholes in sensitive areas of our communities.
