In the horror of a Genocide this is a moment of hope. 15 of the children from the Gaza Nipper’s program got back in the surf this week. 30 of the other nippers can’t be found, many have been killed. How has the world made the decision to send so many bombs and so few lifesavers?

All of them.

The Labor Government promised Parliament that it would step up its advocacy against executions worldwide, so now they need to show they mean it. Silence from the Prime Minister now exposes the terrible truth that our national principles stop where the US alliance begins.

Time and time again, we hear the Albanese Labor Government talking about the ‘shared values’ between Australia and the US. I don’t think anyone in Australia would identify with this behaviour.

This shows just how extreme the US is. Livestreaming an execution by firing squad is the behaviour of a bloodthirsty dictator. Yet the Albanese Government is tying us closer and closer to the Trump regime.

Now polling isn’t everything, but this doesn’t stop at the polls. Last night I was at an event talking about the Greens’ vision to rebuild this country – and the room was overflowing. Over the last few weeks we’ve seen an incredible number of you sign up to join our movement.

A new poll has shown the Greens' vote is on the rise! The Greens are the most popular party with young people & ahead of their state election, the Victorian Greens are polling at record highs. People want change.

Labor can't call itself a climate leader while it keeps approving new coal and gas. Governments must lead. New coal and gas is incompatible with a safe climate. Congratulations, Tony and Wendy. You've shown us we can win.

But it shouldn't take everyday people years in court to force anyone to consider the climate. That's how broken our environmental laws are.

This is what happens when communities step up where governments fail. The High Court has made clear that planning authorities can't ignore greenhouse gas emissions when assessing fossil fuel projects. That's a landmark win for climate accountability.
