More than happy with my team for next week via FT’s but GW8/9 look a little ropey. Feels a waste to use the FT’s then WC next week when I could bring it forward and roll to 5. Currently carrying 3 x Utd which makes me a little queasy everytime I see it..

My concern with Groß, and haven’t properly checked so please feel free to correct, is he’s doing what he’s doing, largely, without reasoning for people having him pre-season. Think he’s had 1 pen. Assists open-play. Overperforming, agree. But see no reason to not own at price. Different if £8m.

Sure, not trying to get bogged down in marginal terminology but I’d say only Groß and JP are ‘essential’ (and yeah, don’t love that term either/no-one is essential.. 😀) I guess by gift I’m loosely saying they’re clearly underpriced given their current performance/potential levels.

Interesting. I currently have both Verbruggen and Kinsky and, looking at fixtures, am inclined to keep Kinsky of the two. Calafiori fair shout. Did consider adding. Personally, I like £6.8m Ødegaard over £9.6m Saka. Just feels comfortably underpriced, whereas Saka is about right.

Who would you replace them with? Ødegaard is underpriced, in my opinion. Don’t think there’s evidence at present to say Saka justifies spending £3m more. Transferred Szoboszlai out for Groß for GW6 and fixtures a bit suspect, but still on set pieces/pens (?) for good side. Will turn at some point.

Few little notes.. -> I’d potentially hold Kinsky for GW6 then book Raya in for GW7. -> Szoboszlai clearly now flagged so need to monitor - Manzambi/Enzo/Tavernier/Schade alternatives. -> Silva/Gvardiol/Hall defenders not quite making the cut. -> Thomas likely starts GW8 (FUL) and GW9 (SUN).

As said elsewhere, Manzambi at £5.9m if you can find the £0.1m. If you can’t, to actually answer your question, and bearing in mind it was scoffed at last time I raised, Mainoo has now hit DC 5/6 (every game he’s started).
